The Vere valley, surrounded by the medieval Gresigne forest and the "perched" villages, reveals the most "outback" France has to offer. A variety of landscapes, prolific history, friendly inhabitants, proverbial wines and gastronomy.
The Vere valley, surrounded by the medieval Gresigne forest and the "perched" villages, reveals the most "outback" France has to offer. A variety of landscapes, prolific history, friendly inhabitants, proverbial wines and gastronomy. Your first stop is at the village of Bruniquel. Perched on top of a cliff, the village is a fabulous testimony of what medieval villages looked like in the 13th century. Continue to the second village of Puycelsi, located 20 kilometers away. The village is also perched and offers a typical image of the small authentic French village with its a church and main square where the elderly usually play petanque (similar to boules). Your tour ends with a wine tasting session in or around Gaillac, one of the oldest vineyards of France. |
