Depart for Playa de Las Americas - Los Cristianos heading for the northeastern part of the island. The first stop will be made at Los Gigantes where you can admire the beauty of these unique cliffs. Moving on, the tour will ascend to Santiago del Teide, arriving at the summit of Erjos from where it is possible to observe the contrasts in vegetation and climate between the northern and southern parts of the island, with some impressive views out over the Teide (time permitting).
Your tour will then continue, descending to El Tanque and its viewpoint from where the municipality of Garachico (once the most important gate to the island) may be observed and its unique 'Roque', an outstanding geomorphologic feature of scenic relevance.
Free time for an optional snack at the viewpoint bar, before you continue the route towards the town of Icod de los Vinos, where it is possible to enjoy the spectacular view of the famous Drago Milenario, a tree (dracaena draco) typical of the Canary Islands, which is more than a thousand years old.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the Parque de Lorenzo Caceres, a park whose famous square the Iglesia de San Marcos may be found. The tour will then continue in the direction of La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz.
Once in La Orotava you will visit La Casa de Los Balcones, a house typical of the Canary Island where all types of handicrafts as well as the typical Canary Island tablecloths can be seen.
Following this, you will be taken to Puerto de La Cruz, the top tourist site on the island, where there will be free time for lunch (not included in tour cost) and to take a stroll through the old town center of Lago Martianez (a creation of Cesar Manrique). |
