Getting to and arýund Bruges
Bruges is located right in the middle of the London-Paris-Amsterdam triangle. Its geologic location makes the city easily accessible via land, air and water transportation.
Frequently used by the travellers to Bruges, Brussels International Airport (Zaventem Airport) offers easy access to Bruges. A train you will take from the airport will conveniently take you to Bruges Central Station in 90 minutes and will cost around €14.00.
Railway transportation is another alternative while travelling to Bruges. Located right on the crossroads of many international and inter-city train routes, Bruges is easy to reach from many cities in Europe such as London (via Eurostar), Paris, Amsterdam and Cologne (via Thalys).
For the visitors from North England, sea transportation is a convenient way to get to Bruges. You can take ferries from Rosyth and Hull to Zeebrugge. The feryy-trip lasts around 50 minutes. From Zeebrugges you can take the bus (number 791) to Bruges Central Station. (Costs: € 3.25)
Bruges is a small city and you most probably won’t need any transportation while exploring the city as all the attractions are within easy reach once you’re in the centre.

Biking is also a popular way of transportation among locals in Bruges. Bicycle hire is possible at the railway station (€ 9.50/24h), at bicycle shops such as De Ketting (€ 5/24h) and Bauhaus Bike Rental (€ 6.00/24h). With your bike it is also possible to participate one of the guided cycling tours organized by several companies in the city. (Prices range between € 10 - € 20)
While in Bruges, you should definitely take a boat tour through the gorgeous canals of the city. Operated daily right behind Belfry Tower, City Hall and near the Church of Our Lady, boat trips give the visitors the opportunity to see the city from a different angle. They last 30 minutes and cost € 6.50.
