Museum Island, Berlin
Museum Island located in the Spree river, gives you a great feel of history of Berlin. The island gets its name from the many museums located there. One of the greatest landmarks is Berliner Dom which was built between 1894 and 1905. It is a baroque Protestant Cathedral, located at the Museum Island, Mitte district. Berliner Dom was severely damaged during World War II after being hit by a bomb. In 1993, the cathedral has reopened after the restoration of the interior design was completed.
If you have time to be in the city, I recommend that you have a visit to the Berliner Dom to see its beauty and elegance.
Guided tours are provided at the Berliner Dom. If you take the metro, you can either get off at Alexanderplatz (S-bahn and U-bahn) or Hackescher Markt (S-bahn). Taking pictures is permitted.
