Sundown from the cable car in Fira Village, Santorini

Once you take the cable car from the port of Gialos to the capital town of Fira, you can travel up and down the path in 3 minutes to Fira, which is 220 m. above the sea level.

The cable car was constructed by Doppelmayr according to the Austrian Regulations and it is known to be very safe.  Currently, the cable car carries 1200 persons per hour.

Despite the speed and the safety of the cable car and the chance to have a look at the magnificent view from the top, some tourists still prefer to take the traditional mule ride on the hills just for the experience.

After having Greek food in a restaurant by the seaside, going down with the cable card to watch the sundown is highly recommended.
