Amazing Santorini
Santorini is located on the southern east part of Cyclades Cluster with its historical and mythological richness. Best sunsets in the world combined with the breathtaking views of the volcano and the island from the Caldera, Santorini is worth visiting. Sandy beaches and many small churches are the characteristics of Santorini. The most common housing types are cave houses and neo classical mansions. It has many villages. The most famous are Fira and Oia Village.
Fira Village is the capital of Santorini, as well as being the cultural and commercial center. Fira is the island’s biggest shopping center, as well as hosting the museums, galleries and cultural events. Many bars and cafes are located on the caldera while clubs are in the cobbled streets of town .
Oia Village, 11 km away from Fira Village, is located 150 m. above the sea level. That’s why it is referrred to as “the place on top of the world” . Oia is also the place where we see in most of Greece pictures. No wonder, it has inspired many artists who has ever visited Santorini. There are many churches around the village most of which have been dedicated to sailors visiting Santorini.
