Nights in Rome
In Rome, authentic Italian wine is not only good, it’s also a lot cheaper than elsewhere. An entire bottle usually costs only €4 or €5, which is what a typical glass of wine would cost in the US or UK. And you don’t have to worry about the quality of the wine either. Bars, cafés and restaurants in Rome take great pride in serving excellent wine.
Finding a place to party is easy in the Italian capital. Try wandering around Testaccio at 11 p.m. and onwards and you’ll surely find lots of people partying. Lots of people are always mingling or wandering about but don’t think twice about walking in. If you make friends, bear in mind that you shouldn’t buy them a drink unless you want sex. In summer, people dance outdoors and the club scene is wild. In winter, most clubs are closed.
The following are some of the best bars in Rome.
The Drunken Ship
With its modern design and trendy guests, The Drunken Ship is regarded by many to be the best club in Rome. It’s where a lot of sophisticated Romans take their foreign guests for a good time. It’s located at 20 Campo dei Fiori
Alexanderplatz
One of Rome’s best jazz bars, Alexanderplatz attracts people from far and wide with its chill out live jazz tunes. There’s nightly entertainment from Italian, European and American jazz musicians. This bar also doubles as a restaurant so there’s a lot of good food in the house. It’s located at Via Ostia 9.
Jonothan’s Angels
You’ll have to get used to the plastic furniture and the wild colors of the walls, but once you’ve settled in, it’s easy to get swept away by the lively piano music and the appreciative, fun crowd. If your idea of a good time is belting out songs to live piano music, this is the place for you. It’s located at Via della Fossa 16 Piazza Navona.
