Transportation in and around The Hague
The Hague enjoys a great location easily accessible via land, sea and air transportation. The Motorway A12 runs right into the city connecting it to the Western part of the country and to Germany. The city is also accessible by several other major motorways such as A4 and A13.
The closest airport to The Hague is Rotterdam Airport. The city is connected directly to the airport by motorway A13. To get to The Hague you should take the airport shuttle from Rotterdam Airport to Rotterdam Central Station. (This journey takes about 15 minutes). From Rotterdam Centraal it is a 25 minute journey to The Hague Central Station (Den Haag Centraal) and it costs € 4.30.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which is the most frequently used airport by the visitors to The Hague, is also easily accessible from the city through both motorway A4 and by railway. A train that you will take from the station underneath Schiphol Airport will take you to Den Haag Centraal in around 40-45 minutes costing € 7.30.
Transportation service within The Hague is very effective. Almost all parts of the city are serviced either by trams or buses.
