What to do in Utrecht
Dom Church and Tower
Located in the oldest square in Utrecht Dom Church and Tower are one of the most visited spots in Utrecht. Dom Church is a Gothic style building with a charming interior. Its garden which was used as a cloister is a beautiful place to feel and enjoy the historical ambience of the place.
Dom Tower is also a Gothic style building and with its 112.5 meters height it is the tallest church tower in The Netherlands. The tower has its own information centre (RonDom) located in the building where guests can get information about the history of the tower along with some brochures. They can sign up for the guided tours organized by the centre as well. (Admission fee: € 7.50)
Oudegracht
Oudegracht (Old canal) is one of the major attractions in Utrecht. It runs through the city and is famous for the old warehouses located on its both sides which serve as restaurants and bars today.
De Haar Castle
De Haar Castle is a gothic building dates back to 19th century. With its fascinating design and the picturesque garden the castle is one of the most tourist-ridden places in the Netherlands.
Nederlands Spoorwegmuseum (Dutch Railway Museum)
Nederlands Spoorwegmuseum offers its guests an interesting tour into the “world of trains”. Here the guests are provided with an historical overview of railway transportation beginning from the first steam engine until to the high technology locomotives of the modern times.
Universiteitsmuseum
In this museum guest can learn about the history of one of the countries oldest university which dates back to 1600’s. The museum has a rich collection of scientific instruments and art objects. (Admission fee: € 7)
Centraal Museum
The museum collection comprises pre-1850 art, modern art, applied art, fashion and the city history of Utrecht. (Admission fee: € 13.50)
