Probably Cape Town is most famous for its picturesque Victoria and Alfred harbour and Table Mountain. Cape Town is certainly the most popular tourist destination in South Africa.
The best views of Cape Town are to be had from Table Mountain. You can get to the summit in ten minutes by cable car or you can hike to the summit on the Platteklip Gorge route. You may like to take the cable car to the top and hike down? If you have decided to hike up Table Mountain instead and worked up an appetite, you will be pleased to know that there are some restaurants at the top.
If you fancy a day at the beach then you are spolit for choice for beaches. Blouberg beach is about a 30 minute drive from Cape Town and is popular for windsurfing. Blousberg beach offers some picture postcard opportunities because you can also see Table Mountain in the distance.
Hermanus has great beaches and is also famous for Whale watching. You can get to Hermanus easily from Cape Town.
For shopping in Cape Town you may want to head to one of Cape Town's huge shopping malls,Tygervalley Centre is one of these such malls and where you will find over 275 shops,cinema complex and restaurants.
As the sun sets you should head to Long Street if you want some night time fun. Here there are plenty of bars, clubs and cafes.
