Coste Del Sol - Mediterranean sun
The Costa del Sol stretches along about 150 km of the Mediterranean littoral in the province of Malaga. The coast boasts one of the highest concentrations of world-class golf courses, to the extent that it is often dubbed "The Costa del Golf". The coast is of great touristic interest thanks to its splendid beaches and smooth climate. Among the most famous centers are Malaga, Marbella and Estepona.
MALAGA
Malaga's history is very visible as you walk around the city. It does not take much imagination to whisk yourself back to Roman times at the Roman theatre, or to the Moorish court at the Alcazaba fortress, which now also features a very interesting archeological museum. Or the splendid court of Isabella and Ferdinand at the great Cathedral or the nearby 16th century palace which houses the museum of Fine Arts.
MARBELLA
The resort is large and stylish, with around 28 km of beaches. Set against the stunning backdrop of the "La Concha" mountain Marbella is a mixture of old and new, with stylish apartments lining the seafront while typical Andalusian houses are to be found along the picturesque alleys of Marbella's old town.
Leaving downtown Marbella heading west, one travels along the famous "Golden Mile", so-called for the palatial beachfront villas.
ESTEPONA
Estepona is renowned for its beaches, which stretch along some 21 km of coastline. It is a popular resort and holiday destination.
Estepona has many facets which make it a popular holiday destination. It has two Blue Flag beaches, a marina area with many tapas bars and restaurants and a white-walled town offering shopping and picturesque squares.
