Euro 2008 in Basel
Austria and Switzerland have successfully hosted the EURO 2008 football championships.
In Basel the EURO 2008 got off to a great start with a party on the banks of the river Rhine that was attended by over 10,000 people.
For some teams there have been celebrations, for others, commiserations. Basel saw the favourites Holland being knocked out of the tournament at the St Jakob Park stadium.
The good natured fans have turned basel into one large party. Apart from the matches there has been plenty of time for sightseeing in this beautiful city.
