The main landmark of Zurich is the Grossmunster Church which dates back from the twelfth century. Once inside the church you are able to climb the 157 steps to the tower or descend to the crypt!
For a truly memorable view of Zurich take a train to the Uetliberg Mountain. The train will take you to the summit from where you will be able to see the panorama of the city of Zurich and the lake.
Shopping in Zurich is not cheap so the souvenirs that you bring home will depend if you have won the lottery or not! Most popular gifts are chocolate, Swiss army knives, watches and jewellery. Zurich airport has a huge shopping centre that is used by many locals and it includes supermarkets and grocery stores as well as all the popular branded stores and restaurants and fast food outlets. It is worth remembering that this shopping centre is separate from the more expensive tax free shops at the airport.
