Easy Jet and old planes

Regarding the use of Old planes. I understand that most of the planes that easy Jet use are at least 25 years old. However in my opinion as long as they are well maintained and they seem to be, then they have a good few more flying years in them.

Aeroplane interiors of most airlines seem to be re-fitted every few years or so so its really hard to tell if you are in a plane of 3 years of 30 years old these days cos they all look spanking new inside!

I wonder what anyone else thinks... I have to say that the most scary flight I have ever taken was from Lydd airport in a small and very old propellor plane. We just flew accross to Brussels but were unfortunate to experience some bad turbulence on the return journey.

Easy Jet and old planes

Hmmmmn, interesting because I have just read that easyjet have asked that planes that have been built before 1990 to be banned from European skies to help cut carbon emissions.

EasyJet have also recently taken delivery of some new of Airbus 319 aircraft and claim that their fleet is the youngest in Europe with an average age of just over two years.

I am thinking to fly with easy Jet but I have heard that they dont allocate your seats when you check in? I am worried that my family will all have to sit apart if we board the plane late? Is it just a case of who gets onto the plane first choosses where they want to sit? Is this correct that easy jet dont allocate seats? Seems a strange procedure....

Some airlines buy a fleet of new aircraft which they then rent out and use the old aircrafts themselves
