"Great service and location"
I stayed in the Abasto Plaza for two nights in October 2004. The staff allowed me to check in very early (11 a.m.) and were friendly and accomodating throughout my stay. The room was large, clean, and had lots of modern amenities and a very big bathroom. The complimentary breakfast buffet includes a wide variety of delicious hot and cold foods. The immediate surrounding neighborhood is a bit grungy, but the location is central to lots of shopping and good restaurants just a short walk or cab ride away. I plan to stay here again on my next visit.

"Good, inexpensive hotel"
I travel to South America frequently and my Brazilian travel agent recommended the Abasto Plaza because it offers good value for money. I paid about US$750 for six days of a double with breakfast. The building was formerly a Holiday Inn and it has that kind of feel. The staff was friendly and spoke adequate English. Free internet available. The neighborhood is not interesting (safe though) but taxis are plentiful and cheap. Good choice if you don't have to be in a better location. |
