Abba Rambla very helpful when our luggage did not arrive Our adult kids arrived a couple of days before us. We got to the hotel late on Friday because none of our luggage was on our plane. The staff was very helpful and concerned...they waived the fees on the phone calls required to get our luggage from the airport directly to the ship on Saturday. We enjoyed our short stay and it was a very nice deal for a few blocks from La Rambla. L Rudel

Should be a 4* Hotel I stayed here last March for my birthday. And was a bit nervous when I saw a review that it was situated in a dangerous area but when I arrived it was not dangerous at all. I absolutely loved the hotel and would definately stay here again if I go back. It was great value for money the breakfast was lovely and had a good selection. The rooms were very large and the bathroom was a good size too. All in all had a great trip and really was delighted with my choice in hotel which was so close to La Rambla.

"Blown away!!!!!!!" Folks, I hate that I took no pictures of this hotel. We booked it at the last minute out of desperation. I was very stressed that I wasn't going to be close enough the famous Rambla in Barcelona by booking here. HOWEVER, the Abba Rambla is located in the Rambla de Raval, which is only about five minutes to the middle of the Rambla. Take one right and you're there, even less of a walk to the major market. You can get to and from the bus and metro to get around or to the airport within minutes. Now to the hotel itself. All I can say is WOW! It has obviously recently been redone, as you could still smell the new carpet. You walk in and feel like you are in an Ikea store. It's very clean, very professional, and very cool. The rooms are small, but just right for two people. Hardwood floors, clean sheets, NICE bathrooms, flat panel TVs, and wireless internet. It's cheap, incredibly nice, and perfect for any tourist in Barcelona. (The reason I'm so excited about it is that I thought that booking the way I did, I would end up in a bad hotel.)

"Perfect" The Abba Rambla was absolutely perfect! It was off the beaten path, but only a 10 minute walk from La Rambla--don't think you can get any better than that! We rode the Barcelona Bus from Gerona/Girona and then bought our 2 Day metro ticket(a great bargain) and rode to the Liceu Station on La Rambla and walked till we saw the sign pointing us toward Rambla del Raval. A bit daunting on a Sunday morning but, it wasn't the scariest street I've been down. When the street finally opened up there was a gorgeous road similar to La Rambla laid out in front of us! And, within 5 seconds we had spotted Abba Rambla next to the cafeteria. Walking into the lobby, through the automatic doors we were greeted with Ole and Quique who spoke extremely passable English. Check-in took about 15 minutes but that was because we told him we were first time visitors and he gave us a Barcelona map and even pointers on what to go see and what was within walking distance. Then, he also told us about a tourist bus and said that the tickets could be purchased from the front desk. Also, he told us the room they had assigned us had twin beds but we preferred a king-size bed (travelling as a couple) and within 2 minutes they had us a wonderful room off the street with a huge bed in it. Taking the elevator to the our room, and we immediately realized this was a real jewel to have found at the price! Our room was 5 feet down the hallway and immaculate! The floors were wooden and there was a trouser press on the wall. The only weird thing was, because this was the first time I'd seen it, having to put one of the room keys in a slot next to the door to turn on the lights. The bathroom was tiled from floor to ceiling, and the towels were luxuriant! The TV was a new 18" LCD that worked like a charm, even though we only used it to see what time it was and for the weather. The windows in the room opened, and the thermostat was to be controlled at your own descretion. Also, there was a personal safe inside the wardrobe free to use whilst you were staying there. In the bathroom there's a full stock of toiletries! A razor, Q-tips, Toothbrush and toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo in the shower (big bottles so you can use liberally), shoe shine puff, cosmetic pads for astringent and things, soap, and glass glasses for your water or whatever else you might need it for. There was a bidet, with its own towel and then 2 hand towels, 2 bath sheets, and a bath mat. Also, they had left an extra roll of toilet paper in case you had run out. A hairdryer was on the wall, along with a nice mirror, and window that you could open for dissipating the steam after a shower--it opened onto a glass enclosed courtyard(unfortunately you couldn't get into the yard). There were hangers and shelves in the wardrobe, along with a full length mirror on the sliding door. Also they had left an extra pillow and 2 heavy blankets for our use. The bed was very comfortable, with almost body pillows as regular pillows for your head. Sheets were crisp and immaculately clean, but very soft and comfortable. We didn't use the mini-bar but it was stocked pretty well with juices, soda, and alcohol. Also, they had a laundry service that we didn't use. As well as room service that was a telepizza place that the front desk would place your order if you didn't speak Spanish. Loved Abba Rambla and plan on booking there our next trip to Barcelona--wouldn't stay anywhere else! If you seee Quique ask him about qu qu the restaurant!
