The Abitart Hotel is a modern hotel in all senses located in the suburbs of Rome. The high technology, retro-style of the hotel may not appeal to the purists but younger couples or groups will enjoy the alternative ambience.

The hotel is not lacking in facilities and the mixture of modern art and modern services make a stay here quite comfortable for business and leisure travellers.

The hotel is a little bit distant from the historical centre and not suitable for guests who prefer to walk to places of interest.

Guests of the Abitart Hotel will find themselves far from the tourist masses of the centre city and the local shops and restaurants are more likely to be full of Romans than tourists.

Business visitors are well catered for with 5 meeting rooms available; all of which offer all mod-cons and catering services. The same rooms can also be used to arrange small parties.

The Abitart hotel's bar/lounge area is an ideal stop for a refreshing drink or snack with a choice of panini, salads, Italian cheeses and burgers available.

LOCATION

The Abitart Hotel is located in the heart of the Ostiense quarter of Rome within minutes of Testaccio, Rome's nightclub zone. It is easy to reach from Rome Fiumicino airport by taking the train as far as Ostiense station. The same train station can be used to arrive at the Fiera di Roma exhibition centre.

Local buses and the nearby Metro Line B station at Piramide will bring guests to the Circus Maximus, Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, the Jewish quarter or the old Roman quarter of Trastevere.

Returning to the hotel in the evening from the historical centre of Rome, guests may prefer to take a taxi to avoid wasting too much time on buses.

"Excellent!"
Just got back from 3 nights in Rome. I searched for days looking at different hotels for Rome and ended up staying at this hotel. Both myself and my husband loved the hotel. The staff were great and the area we found to be brilliant! Our room was a blue room and had a walk in wet room shower! Which was perfect for cooling our feet after a long day walking! The area around the hotel was great as after walking all day the last thing we wanted to do was walk on a night. There were about 10 restaurants around our hotel in the back streets which were really authentic and served brilliant food and were really cheap compared to the city restaurants. The hotel is only a short walk from Pyramide Metro which is 2 stops from the colloseum and 5 from Termini. The lido train also went from Pyramide station. A word of warning about anyone wanting to use the Terravision/Ryanair service from Ciampino! We waited over an hour to leave the airport and other passengers had waited over 2 hours for the return coach!!! Definately would use the train/metro next time! Breakfasts at the hotel were ok but not brilliant! Make sure you eat early or there isnt much choice left. The rooms were spotless! Ask for a quiet room away from the main road but there again all hotels in Rome are noisy. We never encountered any pickpockets but i think you just have to be weary and keep your eyes open all the time on the Metro.

"One of the best"
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. (Better than Sheraton Brussels or Raddison SAS Brussels). I had a 3 night stay. Of course it is a matter of taste. Her is why I liked this hotel so much. Cosy and friendly, almost feel like a family hotel, but with the standards of a modern hotel. Very friendly staff. Helpful and discrete. Really nice room with indicvidually controlled air-conditioning (very efficient). Lovely bathroom. High, firm and very comfortable bed. Top cleanlyness. Stylish. Modern art in lobby and in the rooms. And it it situated very central, close to railway, metro and sights. I will definately recommend it and I would choose it anytime again myself.

"a business hotel"
This is a four star hotel suited towards business travellers. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were large, and it had all the amenities such as chocolates at night, nice shampoo, etc. The shower was really excellent. Breakfast is a buffet offering a large assortment of cereals, yogurt, fruit, pastries, juices, and scrambled eggs large sun room. It was all very nice. We found the staff to be reasonably friendly and had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Others in our party found the staff rude and the hotel not up to the standards of a 4 star. Having to open the windows meant the rooms were noisy at night, and they were on the hot side, but this was the only negative we experienced. It was a short walk to the bus stop, but the subway was further. We found the buses were a very convenient way to travel around the city. Buy your bus pass at the tobacconist around the corner from the hotel. There's a grocery store next door to the hotel - a convenient place to buy wine or bread and cheese for a picnic lunch. I wouldn't stay here if I had a choice, simply because of the price, but overall it was very adequate.
