"The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful" The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Even though the bathrooms and showers were down the hall, it wasn't inconvenient as we had a sink in our rooms to wash and brush our teeth. The street side rooms tend to be noisy at night so ask for a courtyard side room. There was a vast selection of food for breakfast and it was tasty.

"Great Place for the Price" The Absalon Annex is a great budget place to stay in Copenhagen. Hotels can be quite pricey, but this was a fantastic deal. We did have a room with shared facilites, but everything was kept very clean and I never had to wait for shower or wc. Americans are notorious for shying away from rooms such as these, but if you're going to try it, Scandinavia is definitely the place! The Annex is part of a much nicer, pricier hotel, so you get the benefit of a great breakfast buffet, courteous front desk staff and free internet in the lobby. The shared facilities rooms book up quickly, so don't delay. The hotel is on the edge of a 1-2 street red light district, and we did see some women loitering around, but we always felt safe walking around and definitely while in the hotel. The rest of the area around the hotel is being built up with new cafes and restaurants so there are plenty of places to eat. The location next to the train station can't be beat!

"Good budget accommodation" I booked a room in this hotel thru an agency's website. I was not aware that cheap rate belongs to Annex part of the hotel (which is like hostel). However, I still say the room was great and comfortable! Though bath/toilet was shared, it was manageable for 2 nights! The breakfast was excellent with so much choice! Staffs are helpful and speak English. Location was also convenient - just 10 minutes walk from central station. Recommended.

Very nice hotel Spent four nights in this Hotel in October, Not the annex , the Main Hotel. Paid extra for the (private) top floor, and well worth it,a very comfortable room. Extra's as in Free Movie channel, fridge in room,(2 water,2beer-free everyday)Ice machine on landing. Only quibble..top floor rooms seem to be extremely warm, underfloor heating in bathroom, hard to walk on! Very central location, 5 mins from train station, about 10 mins from main centre. Excellent Breakfast. Tip ; Off peak times..check with driver of sightseeing bus..the EXACT times of last trip, etc. We bought two day ticket, only to find on day two the other trips werent running.! Day trip to Malmo worth it also, very pretty city. Both places a little expensive though. Didnt find much shopping in either.

impressive city Arrived in Copenhagen, to cold weather about 3degrees, with a chill in the air. Transportation very good, buses and trains great if you hold a copenhagen card ,which can be bought most places, then you travel free around the city. we chose to walk and found most sights of interest quite easily, and was really enjoyable walking throught the many cobbled streets , seeing the lovely statues, and buildings around the city. lots of places to visit, from madame tussauds wax museum, ripleys museum of wierd phenomenon, carlsberg brewery, the little mermaid, tivoli gardens, and much more. i felt 2 nights inthe city was nice but not long enough to see everything at leisure. Very busy with bustling people, over the weekend, lots of nationalities, great city atmosphere , buzzing at night time. brilliant nightlife opportunities, but quite expensive to eat and drink out. Great variety of bars and restaurants offering many kinds of menu to suit every taste, but not all budgets. Tivoli Gardens, was pretty. we went at night time, all lit up and christmasy, great rides for kids, wonderful cheery atmosphere, ice rink, shops, and little stalls to spend your money. Hotel Absalon, was great. highly recommend this hotel, we had an upper floor room which was lovely. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, spoke great english, and full of advice to get the most out of our trip. Close to Central station, and close to Tivoli. Would definatly stay there again. Wonderful breakfast here,every morning, attentive staff, and friendly atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed walking around the city and window shopping, but the only draw back, i think, is its quite expensive. other than that, brilliant escape away, with a cultural city buzz.

Good 3 days Best to go Thursday to Saturday night. Hotel was perfectly situated by the station and short walk to Town Centre/Hall. Easy to walk around and take in the sites. Avoid the " British Pubs" and find a local Danish Bar, much cheaper ! Be careful of the cycle lanes as the cyclists do not stop even if they see you. Hotel staff friendly and helpful, breakfast enjoyable. I would use this Hotel as a base again.
