Good Choice for Standard Mid-Price Hotel At the Al Falaj, I was either lucky or stayed during an off period, but I did not have the problem with the nightclub noise mentioned by another reviewer. When I checked in I asked for a high floor, and they gave me the 5th volunteering that the 7th and 6th floors might get noise from the bar on the 8th floor that has a band playing loud music. (I grinned, as I think a lot of people either are forewarned or complain about noise and ask for "high-floor" rooms). The hotel, while I didn't find it grimey or dirty, definitely could use a good face-lift. The furnishing, carpeting, decor is very much used. warn and outdated, which is kind of sad since it's not a bad property in terms of location and facilities--especially the pool, which was really a life-saver when it came to cooling off and relaxing during the afternoon hours when the temperature sored and the city closed down. The room itself was large and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was fine, but pretty standard.
