"I'll be back."
My wife and I just spent 5 nights at the Alamanda and enjoyed it very much. The location is great! It's a very short walk to the beach, to restaurants, and grocery store. We stayed in the Presidential Suite (room 200). The suite was very large and attractive with great views of Orient Bay. We also found the staff very courteous and helpful. I always read Trip Advisor before I choose a hotel and I'll admit that the couple of negative reviews did give me pause, but I'm so glad I didn't listen to them. I've stayed in other places on St. Martin, but this is the one that I'll return to. Here are some of my recommendations: Always rent a car. Go to Pinel Island for the day. Get a lobster dinner in Grand Case. Get sushi at the Thai restaurant behind the resort. Eat breakfast at the Alamanda Cafe by the pool. Eat lunch at Kakao on the beach. And no whinning about how much it cost to vacation on a beautiful caribbean island. Life is short, go for it!

"we loved it, excellent"
We just came back from one week in The Alamada resort and it was fantastic. Excellent , very friendly service, very clean rooms. Nice pool , very nice beach. Excellent restaurants in Grand Cape 5 ~10 minus drive.. Just 2 items for improvement : when driving from the Juliana airport to the Alamada it is not easy to find. A sign on the road would be very helpfull. And only on the last day did I find out that they had WIFI.
