LOCATION
Albahia Hotel is situated in a privileged area, just in a few metres from the beach of Alicante and 5 minutes from the city center. Alicante is a nice Mediterranean city very well connected by train with other Spanish cities, as Valencia, the capital of the Valencian region. Moreover, this Spanish region is famous by its traditional paella plate and by the Las Hogueras de San Juan, one of most beautiful valencian cultural traditions celebrated in June.

PROPERTY AMENITIES
* The breakfast buffet is served in the restaurant from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
* The hotel has a luminous restaurant with nice views of the sea specialized in rice plates and Mediterranean cuisine. The local is opened at breakfast time and for lunch (from 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m.) and dinner (from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.)
* Moreover, there is a welcoming cafeteria opened from 7.30 a.m. to midnight where guests can meet up to have a coffee. |

"Friendly and clean"
The city centre of Aicante is about a 40 minute walk from the Albahia hotel, and is about a 10 minute bus journey from the city centre.
Althought this is a cheap and friendly hotel, I would not recommend it for the less mobile without a car, as the steep hill to the main road would be problematic.
The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly, view of the med was grand (thankfully I was not facing the mountain) and the breakfast was satisfactory and good value.
I would stay in the Albahia hotel again. It was excellent value for money, and was just far enough out of the city to reduce the noise.
Near to San Juan and Alicante. Bus, Tram, Trains all rear by.
Note: advertised free transport to city did not exist in Dec 04. However the flat rate bus journey of .85 euros made it a very easy option.
Receptionist described the bus route which was very easy to flooow ( number 21 or 22). Value for money for budget users.

"Wonderful friendly clean comfortable hotel"
My sister and I recently stayed at this Hotel I can't praise it enough. The staff were extremely helpful, the atmosphere wonderfull, rooms spotlessly clean bed linen and towels, changed every 2 days. the views from our rooms fantastic, I have stayed in many hotels but this one was special, and prices very competitive. The breakfast which was included, unless you want a full english (which we didn't) was excellent and not just your roll and jam. I think the person at the top of the page was just unlucky or went with a view to moan at everything (which some of the english or famous for) We had a wonderful holiday and was very sad to leave, but the Hotel was the main source of our enjoyment, we will certainly return but not ideal for anyone with small children. Thank you to Hotel Albahia staff for a wonderfl holiday.

Albahia Review May Bank Holiday
The hotel was very friendly and clean. The swimming pool looked like it would be great to swim in but had no water - we were informed that it is only open from the end of June. The tennis courts were well used by locals but not by hotel guests as the hotel had no rackets to hire. All in all a very nice weekend but it would be nice if information provided was a little more specific. |
