Albergo Quattro Fontane Hotel is a country-house in the green, a few minutes from the stones of Venice. Everything in the hotel is created to let the guest enjoy the stay in an atmosphere of refined grace.
The restaurant at the hotel serves one with excellent cuisine, including regional dishes, to enhance an evening among friends. Every guestroom at the hotel is well equipped to ensure ones stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
Rebuilt in the 1900s on the site of the first casino on the Lido, the new building was built in cottage style. The hotel, and historic residence, is a complex of 3 villas, surrounded by beautiful gardens. The style is quite original for Venice since it reminds of a spot of Northern Europe with its countryside villa, white painted walls, dark woodden balconies and shutters. The whole is immersed in a countryside atmosphere with a sweet smell of flowers and joyous singing of birds together with the relaxing running of fountains. |

Albergo Quattro Fontane Hotel is set just 50 meters (55 yards) from the beach, this 60-room hotel encompasses a 16th-century "casino" built for Venetian aristocracy, a 19th-century tavern, and a 1966 annex.

Bar featuring original gilded-wood ceiling open from late morning to late night for sandwiches, espresso, and cocktails.
* Platano Outdoor dining and cocktails in lush, flowering garden under namesake 300-year-old plane tree. Open for lunch, dinner. Specializing in items from brick grill.
* Detached from the hotel's main building and immersed within lush parkland is la casetta, a gracious small studio, ideal for reading or relaxing.
* Less like a hotel and more like the informal country home of a well-traveled family, the hotel contains extensive collections of objects such as African masks, Indonesian puppets, and rare French ceramic figures, all filling guestrooms and public rooms. Guestrooms also contain antique furniture, rugs, tapestries, and paintings. Thee main building also encompasses parts of the original 16th-century building, as well as features such as wrought-iron light fixtures from the building's reincarnation as a tavern in the 19th century.

"Perfection on the Lido"
This hotel is perfect-- in a quiet residential area on the Lido, a block from the Adriatic Sea. It is an easy 10 min. walk to the Vaporetto stop to Venice and other islands. Beautifully decorated rooms, common rooms filled with antiques and flowers, excellent breakfast. Worth every penny |

"Beat the Venice crowds"
It was a pleasure to stay on the Lido. Venice is really crowded during the day. The boat takes about 10-15 minutes and you are at St. Mark's. Its also easy to go to the other islands. And there is lots to see and do on the Lido.
The hotel is like an old country inn, surrounded by lots of green. We had connecting rooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twins for our kids. However, there was only one washroom for the two rooms. We are on the top floor of the original building and there was some kind of large fan nearby, but it turned off at 10:30 and came back on at 7:00 so we slept quite well.
The breakfasts were excellent, lots of fresh rolls, fruits and cold cuts. The restaurant is excellent - have the osso bucco and the risotto!
We spent a day at the beach - take a pass on the private clubs and walk to the public beach - its about 10 minutes away. You can rent a beach chair for the day for 8 Euros compared to anything from 25 to a 100 in the clubs.
Its fun to rent bikes - you can circumnavigate the island in about an hour and a half.

"Unique hotel - gobsmacking artwork"
We stayed at the Quattro Fontane for our honeymoon in October and we were very impressed. The hotel has phenomenal artwork collected over many decades by the owners and the rooms are rich in character. The hotel owners are, apparently, two elderly ladies who inherited the hotel from their parents and still live on site.
Lido is a lovely beach side area a short ferry ride from Venice and then a 10 minute walk. Note there are taxis on Lido so when you arrive and leave with luggage I would encourage a cab.
They have a nice restaurant on site in their ornate dining room. If you are after a casual meal this probably isn't the best restaurant for you - we felt like we had been transported to some English aristocrat's residence circa 1750. Very posh!
We were expecting a little less in a hotel in (near) Venice and were surprised at how great this place was. Highly recommend Quattro Fontane.
