"Good hotel!"
I travel to Como several times a year. I have stayed at this hotel four times in the last year. The staff, location, and ammenities are above average for the downtown area of Como. This is one of the few hotels that in fact stay open year around. My husband and I love the restaurant, but be aware, it closes on Tuesdays and the hotel does not offer room service.

"Great Hotel in Como"
Stayed here with my family Nov 23-26, 2004. I agree with the other recent review. This place was great! Besides being in the best location as possible (town center AND on the lake), this hotel had a great Italian charm. The decor made us feel like we were truly in Italy. The great stone facade was beautiful. The front desk persons were friendly and helpful every time we had a question... and we had plenty. There was one person a little introverted, but never unfriendly. The rooms might have been a little smaller than most, but they were colorful and cozy. We opened our window and had a great view of Como's Duomo (love the rhyme). How Italian we felt! I will definitely go back to Como and this will be the place I stay. Como is a very quaint town.

"Loved The Hotel"
I also don't understand the negative reviews as of late. My husband and I stayed there in October 2004 and loved it! We had the junior suite with the terrace and thought it was wonderful! We sat out there in the evenings with a glass of wine. We had a gorgeous view of the lake from our room. It was so nice to wake up every morning and look out and see the fabulous view! The staff was very friendly, they would cook your eggs to order for you at breakfast if you asked. The location was superb, within walking distance to just about everything and the central location gave you easy access to the other towns on the lake, either by boat or car. It was a small, beautiful hotel, one I would definitely stay at again!

"Wonderful hotel!"
We picked this hotel for our 2 night stay in May 2005 based on the reviews here and it exceeded our expectations. We had a lovely room on the 3rd floor that overlooked the courtyard and lake. It was large, clean and well decorated. The staff was friendly and the location excellent. We skipped the 18 Euro per person breakfast and ate at a cafe around the corner. We will definitely stay here again.
