"loved the alcyone" charming, comfortable hotel in superb situation, between st marks square and the rialto bridge. would recommend travelling light as no lift, but has the advantage of attracting couples, rather than school parties. breakfast adequate - didnt leave hungry. staff friendly and helpful. will stay here on our next trip.

"A little gem" have stayed at this hotel twice now for three reasons: 1. Superb location. Located on a lovely street full of gorgeous shops selling glass, clothes, food, wine etc. 4 minutes walk from the Rialto and only slightly longer to St. Marks Square. Also very near a lovely, reasonably priced restaurant (you'll spot gondoliers there at lunch) called La Campana (something like that). 2. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. 3. The staff on reception are very nice and very helpful. I was there last week with an elderly friend who has diabetes and she'd forgotten her blood testing strips and the man on reception walked to the pharmacy with us and explained the situation and got the pharmacy to lend my friend a blood testing kit for the duration of our stay.
