"Excellent hotel"
We-wife and I-arrived in Rome late April and checked in to hotel near Spanish Steps. Unfortunately the temp in Rome was about 85 degrees F and air conditioning which had been stated as feature in website was not available until May 1.We did not feel we could sleep well on street fron with windows ope to street nois and had been flying for many hours, so called and visited the Aldrovandi where I had a reservation for 4 days later. They offered to take us that night or the next; a/c was working. We returned to first hotel and tried to get them to release us but had to pay 2 nights stay or not, so we stayed that night and moved to other next day. Aldrovandi is a great hotel with all facilities in a residential part of Rome next to Borghese Park. They have free shuttle service to the Sp. Steps each hour. Lovely outdoor pool, garden and courtyard. Breakfast was best we had in 3 weeks in Europe. Staff wonderful and had upgraded suite that was gorgeous. Was a pleasure to stay there 4 nights.

"Great Hotel with outstanding service"
We stayed in the Aldrovandi Palace for 5 nights (the last week in May 07). I booked a deluxe double king with a Villa Borghese view which was large with a view of the pool and gardens. The room was quiet, furnished to a high standard and well appointed. The bathroom had double sinks, and was bright and reasonably large. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant "Baby" as we wanted to sample as many different restaurant 's while staying in the city as possible. However we did order room service twice and found the food to be of a very high standard. The overall service provided by the hotel staff was of a very high standard, no request was too difficult. The location is definitely a 15 minute walk from the Spanish Steps but taxi's are plentiful and the hotel door men will ring one for you.

"Amazing honeymoon"
This hotel is where we spent our first week as husband and wife, and it could not have been better. The hotel staff were professional, friendly, accommodating, efficient and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean, as was our room. The room was compact but very comfortable and relaxing. On arrival we recieved champagne and pasteries which had been placed in our room. The breakfasts were great and plentiful, on our departure day they gave us a takeout breakfast as we were leaving the hotel at 08.00. An added bonus is the shuttle bus which drops off at the Spanish steps, and picks up every hour until 19.25. Outside the hotel a tram passes regularly which passes St. Peters square. The hotel is located in a beautiful tranquil area of Rome, with the stunning gardens of the Villa Borghese on the doorstep of the hotel. An amazing holiday overall. We highly reccommend this hotel and Rome!!!!! Mr & Mrs O Hagan N. Ireland.

"a very comfortable hotel"
Our stay at the Aldrovandi Palace in early March for 4 nights was very comfortable. After 2 nights on the street side we asked for a change to the garden side, very much quieter with no outside traffic noise. The staff were friendly and professional and the courtesy car daily to the Spansh steps a help because the hotel is far for the congestion of central Rome. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with even a bag breakfast on a day we made an early Vatican visit. The pool and garden looked very nice, although not in operation during our visit. We were traveling with our 3 year old grandson, so he enjoyed running in the Borghese gardens across the street. I recommend this excellent hotel.

"Great hotel"
We have just returned home from a wonderful stay at the Aldrovandi Palace. Having read the varied reviews I was a little apprehensive about this hotel. However, I really can't praise the hotel enough. The hotel staff were extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Our room had a garden view and was immaculate. It was compact but beautiful. It was cleaned twice daily and the maids couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfasts were 33 euros each, which was rather expensive, but on a positive note, there was plenty of variety and the food was of a very good quality. Having eaten out during the day, we found that it was cheaper to eat in the hotel in the morning rather than find somewhere during the day. The shuttle bus runs from the hotel on the hour to the Spanish Steps and returns at 25 past the hour. The hotel are more than happy to call a taxi for you. Please be aware......We paid 70 Euros from the airport and was 'ripped off' by the taxi driver. The cost from the airport should have been 40 Euros, but we didn't know at the time. Also be aware of the beggars and romanian women with babies who have perfected the art of pick pocketing. We had our purse stolen, but luckily got it back. Keep hold of your bags and make it difficult for them. A bum bag would possibly have been better to carry our belongings in. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definately return.
