Good value accomodation
The decor and facillities were a wee bit tired and in need of a make over, however we could not fault the staff! Everyone was very friendly and helpful.Considering the price we thought it was pretty good value for money! |

Glasgow Delight
Stayed here a few times over the last 3 years and always had a good stay.Staff were helpful, rooms were clean, breakfast was self service ( food was ok & as much a you want ),located ideally in Glasgow. Considering the room & breakfast rates for the Radison Hotel over the road - you do get better value for money at the Alex Thom. |

Don't listen to the Cab Drivers
This hotel is not the most updated, but the staff counldn't have been nicer. They are working very hard to get the hotel renovated. The rooms were nice and the morning breakfast was great. The location is the best - close to everything. Try it, you will like it |

Excellent value for money!
We booked to stay at this hotel for a short stay in Glasgow because it was cheap. Then after reading some of the reviews on this page we were worried what we'd let ourselves in for. But it was great! Fantastic value for money, really central - opposite the Radisson no less, dead clean, friendly and the breakfast was really good. There were fresh clean towels, shampoo and soap, bisuits and tea and coffee. And the TV had freeview. I couldn't imagine getting better for the price we paid! Highly recommended! |

Walked in and walked back out again!
Arrived in Glasgow, got in a taxi to go to this hotel and the taxi man advised us not to stay here, when we walked inside we found out why, it is a place that the social put people up to stay-alcoholics, drug addicts the lot. its based beside a lap dancing club and you will find the odd prositute outside the hotel when you come back from the pub. Should not be advertised as a hotel! we cancelled are booking and booked into the Ibis hotel, much better location and just as cheap. Saftey and comfort are priceless really. |

The lift didn´t work properly
This hotel is bad to those who use a walker.
I couldnt get to the breakfast room unless one of the staff went up the stairs and pushed the lift botton from the first floor to get me there. If you can´t climb the stairs this hotel doesn´t work for you. The guest room floor is uneven so the bed rolled out from the wall and did´t stand still. |

Don't think so
As a young couple, we stayed here for a weekend. Location is great with food, pubs, trains, etc close-by. Booked this hotel becasue it was cheapest around for our short stay. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! TV remote not working, water splashes everywhere from sink, sour milk, cleaners leaving door un-closed with my expensive laptop in the room (!!!), and the breakfast wasn't great. Never met a 'UK' staff the entire stay. Great for a cheap stay, but you'll never see me there again! |

Great Hotel
Stayed here in October for the first time after years of travelling to glasgow... by far the best hotel to date... right next to central station and walking distance to everything... friendly staff... huge rooms... have already booked back in for the end of january and will continue to use this hotel for each visit to glasgow... Cheap hotel but a fantastic place!! |

Fawlty Towers
I stayed here for four nights in November 2007. It was a horror. The elevator didn´t work which was a disaster as I walk with a walker. The bed rolled away from the wall in my room because of the uneven floor. The water in the shower wasn´t hot enough. I woun´t return to this hotel. |

stayed here overnight
I stayed at the Alexander Thomson Hotel overnight and honestly, given the money I paid for my room, I wasn't expecting much. The hotel is centrally located, close to the trainstation. My room was basic but shabby, breakfast was alright. My stay was ideal for my budget. |

good value for money
We, four friends travelling through Europe, spent one night in Alexander Thomson Hotel. We chose this hotel because of its reasonable price and convenient location. Actually, we did not expect so much from a 2-star hotel but the rooms were OK and front dest was helpful. Overall, this hotel has a good location to explore the city. |

alexander thonson hotel
This is the second time i have stayed here in 5weeks... have to say, was quite harsh on it the 1st time around simply as its basic, but its very good value for money and although the place could do with double glazing/bit modernisation, it is clean and great location and well worth a visit for an overnight stopover. Will definately use again. |

"What a difference!"
Having stayed at this hotel some time ago and not having a great experience it was only out of sheer necessity I happened to have to stay last week.
The check in was smooth, the staff very helpful and most importantly the rooms very clean. Apparently the management has been changed. Value for money I would say the Alexander Thomson is quite unbeatable and will stay there again.
