"Great Value for Money" This hotel was a very nice surprise. At the end of our Greek Islands getaway we decided to spend one more night in Athens. Before leaving Santorini we booked on line with Expedia, as we didn't want to spend the whole night searching for somewhere. As there was no hotels in the Plaka area available and the Alexandros didn't look to far off from the main attractions we decided to book. The hotel itself is in a lovely and safe area by all of the embassy's. The decor is very modern with all of the amenities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The concierge were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was very good. The location of the hotel is around a 15 minute walk to Plaka however you get to see things you would not normally see. We were able to walk by the newly restored marble stadium they used originally for the first modern day Olympic games and the ones held last summer, and the Gardens of Zeus which has lots of different ruins hiding . The prices are reasonable on weekends as I would think it is more a business hotel during the week, I would reccommend the Alexandros highly.

"Good hotel" Nice hotel. Pretty good location, except that from Plaka on Friday evening we couldn't find a cab driver willing to drive that direction because of traffic (which ended up not being bad at all). We booked using -----. When we arrived at the hotel, they said they had no record of your pre-paid reservation. They refered back to their reservation office and finally straigtened everything out. I'm not sure if the mistake was from ----- or their end. So definitely re-confirm ahead of time! We didn't bother to ask for a non-smoking room, so we had a run-of-the-mill smoking room. The room was not very spacious, but all of the ameneties were as expected. The complimentary continental breakfast buffet was surprising and excellent.
