If you arrive at Athens airport, you can take Metro "blue line" to Syntagma square metro station, transfer to Metro "red line" and get off at Omonia square metro station. Omonia Square metro station is 3 minutes walk from Alma Hotel.
From Omonia Square metro station, you can get access to the whole of Athens in a matter of minutes. The area is only 3 stops to Acropolis on the metro. In Acropolis, you can visit many sights and attractions including the Parthenon, the Erectheion, and the Temple of Athena Nike.
Alma Hotel is just 15-minute walk to the National Archaeological Museum, grocery store and restaurants around the area.

I didn't like the neighborhood but the hotel was fine
The hotel is not too far from the city center but I didn't like the neighborhood, there were a few sketchy characters out there. The hotel didn't feel as homely as I would like it to; however, its a two star budget hotel so I didn't expect much. The room was clean and airconditioned which was a relief for me. Thus my stay here was just fine. |

you get what you pay for
I selected Alma Hotels for its good price and location. Indeed I got what I paid for, this hotel has an excellent location and close to all touristic monuments and museums. If you dont mind sleeping with low standarts and if having a real backpacker experience is what you are looking for, I can recommend this hotel for you. Vicinity to the real centre and good price! |

"Great hotel! Great value!"
This is a great value hotel.. ok, hostel really. Ideal for backpackers and other 'real' tourists. The rooms are clean, air conditioned and quiet. I found the hotel to be ideally placed to be close to all the tourist areas, like the acropolis etc but also, due to its location next to Omonia square, it was right in the heart of the 'real' Athens, not the false tourist park of the Plaka. The staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast (although very basic) was even provided as part of the deal, which is great considering (at time of writing) a double room only cost me 50 Euros! Don't listen to the other reviewer who complained about breakfast, what does he expect for 50 euros, the HK Hilton? Backpackers.. choose Alma... wimps who like to visit tourist sites while avoiding any kind of immersion in a real foreign city can hide in a high cost hotel in the Plaka!
