Alpha Palmiers hotel is a four star hotel located in the city centre. The hotel is entirely transformed in the year 2000. Structure of future, room panoramic and entirely glazed external elevators, make new Alpha a single establishment in the area.

This hotel is now ready to welcome its guests after a total renovation of the property. The new Alpha Palmiers Hotel features a unique, modern architecture surrounded by gardens, which will make you forget you are in the center of Lausanne. The hotel actually planted a 6 meter bamboo wall in their auditorium. The roomy and comfortable rooms give on external and interior gardens, thus creating an oasis of greenery and peace without similar.

The hotel has 2 restaurants, one serving traditional and international dishes and the other serving Swiss specialities.

LOCATION

Alpha Palmiers Hotel is located only three minutes from Lausanne main railway station and 40 minutes from Geneva's international airport. In fact, the hotel is conveniently situated between the railway station and the "Old Town".

Great Location
You can't top the Alpha Palmiers for location. A mere three-minute walk from Lausanne main station, a good-sized, clean room with nice bathroom and all amenities, attractive, modern architecture of the hotel, friendly and efficient staff, an improved buffet breakfast all guaranteed a nice stay. At check-in ask for the free Lausanne Transport Card, which gives you unlimited use of the public transport system!

spacious and modern hotel
My two kids and I stayed here for two days in May while we were going from Paris to Rome by train. The hotel is very close to the train station BUT you have to climb a very steep hill so it wasn't easy for us to drag our luggages uphill. 20 minutes walk and we were at the lakeside which was a pleasant stroll. Our room was spacious and modern, the bathroom wasn't really a "room" but a glasslike cubicle in the actual room. So it didn't feel very private besides at night when you turn the light on in there "bathroom" feels like a big nightlamp, disturbing the sleeping company. Staff was helpful - all in all, I liked the experience and would come back here anytime.

nice hotel
I loved the decoration of the rooms, so modern and bright! Alpha Palmiers Hotel is located just in the city centre and overlooking to the lake, so it provides you vicinity to the shopping and dining areas. Just steep is a little disadvantage, if you dont like to walk. Staff was quite attentive and breakfast was OK.

excellent hotel at the heart of laussane
excellent hotel. the staff are extremely helpful. we ordered some food and there was delay in delivering the food. So the hotel authority didn;t charge us for that food. Location wise it's perfect.

"Solid Hotel in the Heart of Lausanne"
The Alpha is a very nice, modern and convenient hotel just below the Centre of Lausanne - midway between the train station and Place St. Francois. For European standards, the rooms are large -- and if you are a single in a room, expect a single bed (we Americans aren't used to that). Some of my European colleagues who had stayed in other hotels in Lausanne also said that the Alpha was much better than their other accomodations. As seen in other reviews, there is a very steep hill from the main rail station to the hotel, so prepare to heft your baggage. The staff is adequately helpful, definitely polite, and the breakfast is good for both Europeans and Americans, alike. The oriental restaurant in the hotel is also quite good. Don't worry about no shower curtain -- I think they want you to douse the floor with water.

"A Really Good Hotel"
This is a great hotel for exploring Lausanne and surrounding area. It's not far from the train station and the old town. The hotel itself is very modern and stylish. The room we had overlooked the central courtyard, was very large and had a stylish bathroom behind a frosted glass partition - in all it was very Philippe Starck. We paid £80 for 1 night. Breakfast was an additional 22 CHF and was not worth it.

"A good one"
Spacious and stylish rooms. But not all is ok. Try to go to the bathroom at night and turn on the light: The glass bathroom lights all the room. The "cow" style chairs aren't also very confortable. The window/door facing the inner garden (quite nice) is quite heavy and could be difficult to close by not very heavy people. The "airco" works well but is really noisy. The hotel has a parking just inside (is also a public parking) more cheap than Barcelona's rates. The breakfast is right but not excellent and the waitress aren't the world's kindest. Is quite well placed, 200m. from the train station, and the area seemed ok.

"Large beautiful rooms"
Good, central and very clean hotel. The food is average; one has to ask for bread and butter on the table. If you are a vegitarean do not have the fixed menu as you might end up with mashed potatoes and colourful mixed veg. The breakfast is very good and the setting nice. Be careful of the OK button on the TV remote as if pressed by mistake you may be charged for the day. The staff is helpful.
