"Good quality & friendly hotel" we stayed at the hotel in September 2006, had an issue finding it as went on the bus from the airport, as all water taxis were on strike when we arrived, if I went again I would go by water taxi, alot easier to find your hotel that way! The hotel staff were very friendly, rooms were amazing, traditional old fashioned rooms with grand high ceilings and decor. view was poor, as we looked out onto another wall, but when you have the beautuiful city of venice on your doorstep who needs a window view! Breakfast was good value and filled you up for the day. Ideal location, close to local bars and restaurants and walking distance to most places. Water bus rank is 2 min walk from hotel. Best way to enjoy venice is just walk around and take it all in, we went on a Gondola 80 euros for 40 mins, very peaceful & romantic

"Lovely room (eventually), very central" On arrival (2 minute walk up from the train station) we asked for a room on a high floor and then got put in a room in the building out the back. The room and the whole block was badly decorated and looked after, so we eventually got a room in the front that was also on a high floor. The man working on the desk was so rude to us about this that we fell about laughing (once we got our nice room!) The front building is a much higher standard, the room bigger and much more tastefully decorated. The breakfast was very good and availalbe until 10.30 (11 at weekends). Its an excellent location, just on the edge of all the sights and the more local area, so you get a good mix in terms of atmosphere.

"Excellent stay at the Amadeus" Our family of 4 (11 year old son, 14 year old daughter) stayed here in two adjacent rooms during a brief stay in mid-August. This was everyone's favorite hotel during our two week stay in Europe (paid about $350 for two rooms including breakfast). The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, quiet, and reasonably spacious by European standards. The bathroom was very nice! The hotel was well-run, friendly staff, and a fantastic breakfast was included. We requested a non smoking room, which was ready upon our early arrival (we confirmed the night before, another nice service of the hotel). We arrived by train, so it was an easy and pleasant 5 minute walk from the train station. We left by airplane, and we were able to catch a bus from the nearby bus station(10 minute walk) that zipped us to the airport effortlessly and quickly. We highly recommend the Hotel Amadeus without hesitation.

"Avid Amadeus Fan" I had a really enjoyable stay, I don't recognise the hotel from previous reviews. The staff were very accomadating and friendly, happy to deal promptly with anything we requested. There was a huge breakfast selection, all of it high quality and very tasty. Presentation was obviously taken into account, with large display cabinets in the main hallways showcasing Venitian costume and Murano glass. The rooms themselves were lovely (we had two rooms across the family) and very comfortable. The hotel has the street on one side, but backs out onto a leafy park on the other side. The street is busy, but no more busy than anywhere else in Venice. It is a 2 minute walk away from the station and 5 minutes from the bus station and car park, which makes carrying suitcases and kids a doddle. Everywhere else is very easily reached by foot or, if you really can't manage a 20 minute walk through beautiful architecture, the vaperetto. We had an excellent long weekend, would go back to stay there without hesitation.

"Just How I Imagined Italy" This was our first stop in Italy. When we arrived at the hotel they brought us up to our room and opened the window. The picture is the view from that window. It was just how I imagined Italy. The hotel was very charming, the staff was very attentive and this hotel was by far the best we had in Italy.
