"Very pleasant"
I stayed at the Amari Boulevard twice (4 nights), both at the beginning and end of my trip to Bangkok. I found the entire experience to be pleasant and the staff to be friendly and personable. The staff remembered me and my friends each time I entered and left, held my baggage after checkout for nearly 10 hours, offered complimentary beverages in the lounge, and helped me book a hotel in Phuket.
Great part of town. Sukhumvit is nightlife heavy. Visit the beer garden in the adjacent lot for hot cashews and papaya salad with sticky rice.
Rooms were about $109/night which is expensive for Bangkok. If you're looking for luxury, upgrade to the Banyon Tree or Oriental. If you want a comfortable place with a friendly staff, stay here.

"Great Location"
For a tourist hotel, this hotel is pretty good value for money. The location is great - a few minutes walk from the metro line, lots of restaurants, bars and shops, and a good central location for the sights of Bangkok. The lobby of the hotel is very nice, and the rooms are okay - although many of the rooms do not have a great view. The swimming pool area is small, but pleasant - and there are always plenty of sunbeds. As a little tip, the supermarket obviously the hotel has a food counter in it with the most delicious food for literally no cost - I really recommend it, although the manner of the staff in the supermarket is pretty brusque. Back to the hotel though, the staff were helpful and friendly.
