LOCATION
Amazon Hotel is located in Syntagma square, which is one of the two main squares of Athens. The Greek Parliament is located in this square. Here, you can visit National Garden, enjoy the shade of subtropical trees and watch ducks frolic in the pond. Zappeio building, which is used as a Conference and Exhibition Center for both public and private purposes, is also located in Syntagma square. You can also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, which remains a major landmark in Athens and the site of important ceremonies.
Plaka area is within easy access from Amazon Hotel. Plaka is the most scenic and ancient district of Athens. Here, you can find the Ancient Market, the Temple of Hephaestus, known as Thisseio, and the Tower of Winds.
Within 15 minutes walk you can arrive to the Acropolis and see most of the important historical buildings of Greece, including the Parthenon, the Erectheion, and the Temple of Athena Nike.

"Perfect for our needs"
I agree with the previous review. We did also book a taxi through the hotel site and when we arrived at the Athens airport, the driver was not there (our original flight was delayed). I called and the driver came a 1/2 hour later and was very personable and spoke good English. Got to the hotel and staff was not overly friendly but cordial. They were always very accommodating whenever we asked for something. The room (triple) was big enough for our needs, and it was very clean and very convenient to everything. We walked to the metro, the Acropolis, and the Plaka (souvenir area). Breakfast was continental and consisted of cereal, eggs, breads, fruit and yogurt. Also, as previously mentioned, the lobby and the elevators were small (the elevators were claustrophic). But again, the staff was nice and I even got a "thank you for visiting" email when I got back home.
