"Amazonia Lisboa Hotel was ok"
Amazonia Lisboa Hotel was ok. The rooms weren't fab, smallish, but clean and ok, little balcony. The location was ok... quite a long walk to everything, but not tooooo far. Swimming pool very small in a rather uninspiring setting. Staff were ok.

"Amazonia Lisboa Hotel is fine"
Amazonia Lisboa Hotel is fine. Location is excellent. Not much of a welcome at reception when you arrive, but this seems to be common throughout Portugal. They have individually-controllable air-conditioning in every room which is nice and which you'll need during the summer months, but it is quite loud, so if you're a light sleeper this could be a problem. Breakfast was good.

"Fantastic surprise!"
This hotel was definitely a pleasant surprise for my trip to Lisbon. I went there expecting an average 3* hotel. What I got was a hotel that in many ways is better than some 4* hotels I have visited. Where do I start from? First of all, the pictures I saw online do not do it justice. It is very spacious, especially the rooms. There was enough room for another two double beds in the bedroom. Extremely clean, comfortable, cosy... I felt welcome immediately. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive (from opening doors to calling the lift). The breakfast was modest but complete. I didn't feel that there was anything essential missing from the buffet. The swimming pool was very clean and a refreshing change in the summer but don't expect anything big. The lounge was also very nice and spacious. The hotel is located within walking distance to the city centre, but for those who like the easy ride, the Rato metro station is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the huge and modern Amoreiras shopping centre where you can find ANYTHING from cinemas to clothing to gelaterias. The ride between the airport and the hotel was more or less 20 minutes during day time and 15 minutes in the early hours. I recommend taking a taxi to the hotel from the airport due to the city's hilly structure (unless you're travelling extremely light). It costs 13 Euros per taxi using a voucher from the tourist information desk. My stay at the hotel was undoubtetly a great start to my visit in Lisbon. Definitely going back on my next trip to Lisbon.

"Everything as expected."
It was our first trip to Portugal and Lissabon so we searched the net for a good hotel. Among a lot of possibilities we choosed the Amazonia and we never had to regret.
We got a very fine double room with a balcony to the backside of the hotel (pool side), and could enjoy the sunshine every morning. The room was excellent and cleaning and service was just fine.
The staff was very helpful and kindly, and there was a good atmosphere.
The breakfast buffet was fine with a good variety of stuff, suited to satisfy almost everyone.
The surroundings of the hotel was very quiet and peaceful with a little park nearby, a green spot where you could enjoy a cup of coffee looking at the children playing or dogs and doves bathing in the fountain.
If you get hungry there are several restaurants to serve you, and if you just need a bottle of water or some chocolate you can also find a small grocery.
The centre of Lisbon is only half an hour away, down Avernida de Liberdade and when you want to go home (up the hill) the metro station Rato is only 5 min. walk from the hotel.
Bairro Alto is also close to the hotel, passing Rato and down Rue da Escola Politécnica. If you continue in this direction you will end by the river.
We will certainly come back again.
