"Excellent location - Executive Level worth it."
We stayed here for one night after having been in Amsterdam, Brussels and Cologne for the last week. We had reserved a free room through a frequent traveler program and were asked on check-in if we wanted to pay 50 Euro for an upgrade to the Executive Level. The upgrade would include an happy hour appetizer reception in the evening, breakfast in the morning, internet access and an upgraded room. We went for it and were glad we did.
I've stayed in this hotel several times before and knew that the location was very convenient but I had never stayed in a room as large as the one we got as a result of the upgrade. It was huge and looked out at the Leidensplein.
The happy hour was quite nice and the appetizers were good. The place was busy but not overly crowded.
The bed was extremely comfortable and we had no problems sleeping even though the area is very busy and can be very noisy at night.
The breakfast was good, not spectacular. Even so we had our fill. The internet stations in the executive lounge were useful and a printer was available.

"Great location in Amsterdam"
Stayed for 4 nights in Marriott Amsterdam on business trip. It is located close to plenty of restaurants and sight-seeing. A canal tour dock is just steps away from the hotel entrance. Rooms are nicely appointed and recently updated with comfortable beds, flat screen TVs, marble bathroom, etc. In-room safe is large enough for computer and other items; iron & hair dryer included in room. Restaurants on-site are not overly exciting, but breakfast is a nice spread (a little expensive). Museums are 10-15 walk from hotel, and Anne Frank house about 20 min walk. Trams are avaialble too. Would recommend the Marriott Amsterdam for tourists and business travelers.
