The Andel’s Hotel is located in the Andel neighborhood, a shopping and business area near the old part of Prague. The largest shopping mall in Prague, Novy Smichov and two multiplex cinemas are located close to the hotel.
The Old Town is 2,5 kilometres (1,5 miles) and Lesser Town is 2 kilometres (1,25 miles) away. Andel underground station is situated just next to the hotel and you can arrive at the Old Town by metro approximately in 10 minutes.
If you want to explore this great city on foot, you can see the Monument to Soviet tank crews and the Detsky Island where an allegorical statue of the Vltava River stands, as you walk northwards. Mala Strana (Lesser Town) is an old district sorrounded by the beautiful examples of Baroque architecture. The Prague Castle with its St. Vitus Cathedral and many other churches, palaces, gardens and a museum, is located just near Mala Strana.
By passing through the Charles Bridge you can reach the Old Town Square and the Wenceslas Square. While the Old Town features numerous historic sights, the Wenceslas Square is the commercial centre of the New Town and the National Museum and the State Opera are located here as well.

"Very impressed"
We stayed in the Andel Design hotel for a long weekend in August 2007. We really enjoyed our stay - the hotel is bright, modern, clean and had everything we needed. We loved the king sized bed in our room and the curtains which totally blacked out the world outside. Even though the hotel is situated in a popular and busy area, it was dead quiet within the room. The room had all the necessities - multi-channel TV, air-conditioning, mini-bar, a small safe, and more. The bathroom was superb - very modern and sparkling clean. Like the other reviewers on this site, we loved the buffet-style breakfasts, which had a good choice of food - everything from eggs and bacon to pastries, cereal and fruit. The staff in the dining room were also super efficient.
There are trams stops about 30 metres away from the hotel, which takes you on the short trip directly into the city. There is also a underground stop within 50 metres of the hotel, although we preferred to travel above ground on the trams to get around.
There is a large shopping centre within a minute's walk of the hotel, with a double storey Tesco, a large food court, movie complex and many other shops. Spent too much time exploring Prague though to explore the shops!
The hotel even has its own taxi's, and this was helpful for the trip from the hotel to the airport when we left.
I'd easily recommend this 4 star hotel to anyone visiting Prague. Our stay there was effortless and an absolute pleasure. If we go back to Prague, we will definitely stay there again.

"Trust Me - Stay at this hotel!"
My sister and I stayed here for a week in August. It was a fabulous experience. Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and Andel's is an excellent hotel to come back to at night. Everything was done right as other reviews have described. The breakfast filled us up through lunchtime. The staff were very kind and accomodating. We took the metro and walked quite a bit.....walking into the city center was easy. Petrin Hill was a close 15 minute walk away. After traveling for 4 weeks in other parts of Europe, staying at Andels was an wonderful way to end the trip. You won't regret staying at this hotel.

"Gorgeous Rooms, Great Location, Great Value"
I just recently returned from 7 nights in Prague with 3 of my friends. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite at the Andel's Suite Hotel, at a rate of 220 euros per night, including breakfast for all. The room was absolutely amazing, and seemed like we were the first guests to use it. The room had two floors, with a bathroom on each (with heated floors), and even had power rain shower heads in the showers(amazing). There were 2 42in. LG Plasma tv's, each with there own dvd player. The room was serviced quite well each day, even at 4-5 pm if we were just getting up (late night previously). Front desk was always helpful, but you need to be careful when requesting taxis. Make sure you ask specifically for a AAA taxi, otherwise you will end up with a hotel taxi that is 2-4x as much as AAA. We found out quite quickly that AAA is the only taxi company to use in prague as the drivers actually use the meters and charge you the correct rate. I would definately stay here again, especially if we could get the same rate for this type of room. Breakfast was including each morning from 6:30-10:30, and had a nice selection of fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, juices, etc...

"Brilliant Hotel!"
This hotel was brilliant. The staff was extremely helpful - providing maps and highlights of places to visit. They spent a lot of time at check-in giving helpful tips to enjoy the city. The room was large and spacious. Even with a child's crib/cot in the room. The bathroom was extremely clean and spacious. Separate tub and shower and toliet room. Very close to tram stops and a massive 24/7 grocery store for any basics that are needed. Highly recommend to all visitors to Prague.

"Best Hotel of our 6 city European trip!!!!!"
We can't say enough about the Andel's in Prague. The hotel was fantastic, great rooms, the most comfortable beds in europe!!! Marble
bathrooms, extrodinarily helpful staff with great recommendations for
places to eat. The hotel was stylish, spacious and accomodating. Breakfast was good and included in the price and there is free internet in the lobby. The location couldn't be better either, it was
right in the middle of the Andel neighborhood in Prague which is a very new, modern neighborhood with great bars and restaurants. The hotel is directly behind the "Andels" stop off the metro which makes getting anywhere in Prague as simple as can be. Other reviews that say Andel's is inconvenient since it is out of the city center are simply wrong. It's a block from the Metro and the metro will take you anywhere in Prague you want to go. We never set foot in a taxi or a bus for that matter!
We traveled to 6 different cities in Europe on our trip (paris, munich, prague, vienna, venice and rome) and Andel's was our favorite
hotel we stayed at. We'd recommend it to anyone.

If you are looking for a modern clean and very comfortable room just 2 stops from the city then this hotel is excellent. My friend and I stayed in a twin room and there was plenty of room. Breakfast was included in our price - lovely - catered for all taste. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the resturant as we had plenty to choose from just outside and in the city centre. OVerall i was rate this hotel 10 out 10 you really can't go wrong staying at this hotel. p.s the bathroom was just like the picture Enjoy!

"Great people, great pillows"
Ths was our second stay at the Andels hotel and suites. The first time was in a standard room, we were delighted. This time, a couple of years later, the price had risen considerably to general UK levels. We were in the suites section of the Andels and paid 138 euro.
The suite was very good. Breakfast was included. The kitchenette had no crockery or cutlery but I expect we could have requested it. Breakfast by any standards is good with plenty of choice but I wasn't keen to see other guests handling the bread loaves as they sliced them - call me fussy, so I passed on that.
Staff at the Andels are charming and professional. The location is good for shops, transport and eating but a fifteen minute walk to the river and further to the city centre - we enjoy a walk.
Room service prices were expensive compared to eating out. We ate out, two good fresh pizzas, 25cl of wine and a beer with tip for £10.
Only complaint was that the rate was quoted in Euro but charged in local currency at a bad exchange rate This cost us quite a lot on a single night and would have been very bad if we had been there for longer. If we had taken euros with us they would have accepted them. We got 25Kc in the UK per euro but the hotel converted at 22.89)
Overall a good hotel and the best pillows in the world.

"Loved the Andel's Suites"
We stayed in an Andel's suite for our honeymoon. After organising our own wedding we knew we would be tired. We wanted to see Prague but also chill out in our own space.
The suite was lovely, beautifully and cleverly designed with stacks of space. It was spotless, the showers amazing, the kitchen great, the bed was incredibly comfortable. We had two Plasma TVs and both DVD players worked with CDs/DVD’s brought from the UK. If you’re staying for a few days it’s really convenient to have the fridge. There is a fantastic shopping centre next door.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Everything we needed was supplied quickly and without a fuss. People have complained about hotel staff being unfriendly but they are friendly if you talk to them, try a little Czech and tip them reasonably and directly. We met a lovely waitress who told us lots about the area and Czech history. When the staff discovered we were on our honeymoon, champagne quickly arrived in our room.
The hotel location is superb for transport and there is no need to waste money on the notorious Prague Taxi’s. Buy a 3 day travel pass from the airport and use the Metro and Bus. We enjoyed staying in a district that gave us a different view of the city. Being outside the main Tourist areas encourages you to walk into the town and you discover Prague and its residents in a different way.
Reviewers here have complained about Andel's modern Architecture and the amount of glass? But we loved it. The hotel is filled with light. It makes no sense to stay there if you are not a fan of contemporary design. If you want Baroque Architecture, vaulted ceilings and romantic views of the old town from your window then this is not the right hotel for you. If you are a looking to discover modern Prague and want clean lines, bright rooms and well designed spaces then Andel’s is a good choice.

"Excellent! A great place for a short break!"
We've just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel & absolutely loved it.
Firstly, I'd like to say a massive 'thank you' to whoever posted a review on this forum on 6th Nov entitled 'Loved It - Hints & Tips'. We used this posting as a guide & it was fantastic. It us saved a load of hassle trying to find our way around.
As people have already said, this hotel is NOT in the main tourist area. But do not let this put you off. The area around the hotel is busy. The shopping centre in front of you as you leave the hotel was certainly popular. For those of you from the UK, it even had a Next & a M&S! However, if it's the Old Town you want to see then the Prague tram system could not be simplier and the hotel reception will provide a map of the city that really helped us explore!
As we arrived in the evening the hotel organised a car to collect us from the airport. Within 15 mins of leaving the airport we were in our hotel room. We were so impressed we used the hotel car to take us back to the airport too!
In summary, the rooms are excellent. They have everything would ever need. The bathroom is the most impressive I have ever seen in a hotel. It was starting to get a bit chilly in the city & the underfloor heating was certainly appreciated!
We got the room through Lastminute & paid just over £120 for 2 nights. In my opinion, I'm not sure if I have ever stayed anywhere that was better value for money. I would definately stay here again...!!
