"Delightful hotel"
This was my first stay at Andrassy. As with other properties run by Orco, I had a wonderful experience. My flight was delayed, so I did not arrive at the hotel until after 1am. A driver was waiting for me at the airport, the staff at the hotel were polite and welcoming on arrival, and my room was ready, with the bed turned down and a chocolate on the pillow.
The room was cheerful, spacious, and clean. Mine had a wall of windows and small balcony. I was a bit concerned that it might be noisey since it faced Andrassy. However, this was not an issue. The bathroom was clean and bright as well. I liked that the room had a small safe tucked inside the armoire. Like the room, the public spaces and hallways seemed well cared for and did not show signs of wear.
Throughout my stay, the staff were attentive and accomodating. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast, but I wanted something very light and I wanted to eat in my room so I could quiety prepare for my meeting. Without hesitation they prepared a beautiful fruit platter and delivered it straight away.
I have already arranged to stay there on my next trip to Budapest. I am a big fan of Orco properties and this one was no exception.

"Consistently very good"
I stay here frequently for work. I used to think it was too far from the action, and in a way I still do. But it is a really good property, service is usually very good, the area is lovely and quiet, with easy access to the fine arts museum, heroe's square, etc.
Value for money here is very high. Rooms are large. Ask for a balcony on the street side, it's still quiet, and you get great sun all afternoon.
No pool, but a great old baths just a five minute walk away.

"Wonderful"
I recently returned from Budapest (HU) where I stayed at the Hotel Andrassy. I found this hotel through the SLH (Small Luxury Hotel) guide. What a find. Wonderful.
Upon arrival I was offered white wine and upgraded to a deluxe room. The front desk person had offered to put me in a superior room that included breakfast. When I showed him documentation that I had already confirmed a superior room that included breakfast he upgraded me to an even larger room to apologize for their oversight.
Throughout my stay I was greeted by name each time I re-entered the hotel. My room was comfortable, clean and faced a quiet tree-lined avenue just off Andrassy Street. There is free internet access (two computer terminals) just off the main lobby. The hotel is one block from a metro station that takes you to the center of town in about 3 minutes. The metro is clean, easy-to-use and safe. If you enjoy walking, you can walk to the center of things in about 20-30 minutes. This is a pleasant walk down Andrassy Street which is the most fashionable thoroughfare in town. There is plenty of history, and enjoyable sites along the way. For instance, the walk to the Opera House - also located on Andrassy Street - took me only 20 minutes at a relaxed pace. I walked to St. Stephens Cathedral in about 35 minutes from the hotel.
The Museum of Fine Arts, several other smaller museums and some of the finer restaurants in town, are all in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Andrassy.
The breakfast buffet didn't have as many warm food selections as I prefer. Still, the buffet was plentiful and the staff was warm and hospitable. The Andrassy Hotel is a wonderful place from which to explore Budapest without being in the midst of the big tourists hotels. The staff, the hotel accommodations, and the location all worked. I look forward to visiting Budapest and staying at the Andrassy Hotel in the future. agm+

"Great Hotel"
We have just returned from a three night break at the Andrassy. The Hotel was situated on one of Budapest's most elegant streets. Its location was excellent not right in the centre but only a 25 minute walk or there was a metro stop just a couple of minutes from the Hotel door, which we found very easy to use, also its just a 10 minute walk from Hero's square and a lovely park. The rooms were were bright and spotlessly clean, the staff so very friendly and we were made so very welcome from the moment we arrived. The buffet breakfast was A1 something for every one.You must go to the restaurant Gundel which is only 10 minutes away next to Hero's square.Lovely atmosphere, excellent food and service a little pricey but well worth it.Also vist the Ruszwurm cafe close to the Palace, lovely little place with a fantastic choice of cakes to die for.
We would definitly stay at the Andrassy Hotel again cannot recommend it enough.

"Fine Hotel in Lovely Neighborhood"
We arrived at the hotel by subway (the oldest on the continent). A half-block walk from the stop and you're at the front door. Well, not really the front door, because that is on a quiet residential side street. The hotel restaurant and patio is on the main drag -- Andrassy Avenue, so it is easy to miss the hotel. The avenue is a true boulevard lined by embassies and leafy neighborhoods, with the city center at one end and City Park at the hotel end, Some of the best restaurants in the city are next to the park and about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is upscale and nicely appointed. Without prodding, the front desk upgraded us to a top-floor corner room with great views of the area. The windows were amazing in that they opened about six different ways. We had a very large bathroom with a balcony! Service at the front desk was very capable and friendly. We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening (We wouldn't ordinarily, but there were riots in the city near the parliament building, near where our first choice restaurant was located. The rioters stole a Russian tank on display for the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution and tried to drive it through the cops. Anyway, the smell of tear gas was in the air, and we are allergic to tear gas and riots.) The restaurant was quite swanky and the food top notch with prices to match. All in all, we were very pleased with the Andrassy and Budapest.

"Refined elegance surrounds the Andrassy"
I spent four nights in this hotel. It’s located in the quiet embassy and elite business district of Budapest. The outlook from the hotel is refined elegance. Lots of leafy trees and old mansions that have been carefully restored to their former glory. The hotel is not in a major tourist location but access to all the major tourist attractions is easy. The subways of Budapest are clean and easy to use. Taxis from the hotel were always easy to use and without language difficulties. A bonus in Budapest if you don't speak the language. The closest subway is only 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Budapest is not a huge city so it's easy to get around. Returing to the Andrassy was always a calming and relaxing experience. It must be due to all the trees surrounding the hotel.
The staff at the Andrassy were very helpful. The were able to buy rail tickets and met all my requests in a friendly manner. The hotel provided free broadband internet access throughout the hotel. This was a great touch. Breakfasts were good and dinner in the dining room was also excellent. The hotel has a great selection of Hungarian wines that always pleased. The room I had was large, airy, had a great outlook and good balcony.

"Lovely hotel with great service"
Everything about our 4-night stay here was enjoyable. We were on a long weekend break in Budapest.
The location is fine for tourism, just a few minutes from Hero's square where you can find Thermal Baths and a great outdoor ice rink (recommended!). Here you will also find the Gundel restaurant - meant to be the best in Budapest, and it really is a lovely dining experience, we enjoyed every minute. The main centre of town is a short taxi ride away, or you can walk it if you prefer (20 mins or so). There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.
The hotel itself is very nice. More importantly the service is excellent. I noticed one reviewer complaining about a lack of complimentary water - room service supplied everything we needed, including water!, and were always at the door within one or two minutes at most.
The restaurant was quiet when we ate there, but again the service was spot on and the food good.
Overall, this hotel is ideal for the toursit on a city break. The service is really very good, the staff very friendly and the location is fine. It's one of those hotels that seems to enjoy providing little touches (like free broadband computer/access) that many others charge for or don't offer.
Highly recommended.

"Luxury, elegance, inner peace"
Sorry for the former bad rating,it was a mistake.
I stayed 4 days in this hotel at the end of november for a long break and i am used to stay in that kind of hotels for business purpose.
It is located at the end of Andrassy (the top avenue of B),closed to the embassies. The location is calm and beautiful but not far from the Oktogon bustling aera (2 stops in subway). The outside architecture of the hotel reminds of bauhaus style.Room is spatious and well furnished (mediterranean style with wrought iron)with a balcony.Bathroom and Zebrano restaurant are in keeping.
Staff is professional, friendly and helpful and will welcome you with a glass of Hungarian champagne.
Breakfast buffet is delicious (specially the croissants).
A perfect place for a business trip or a romantic week-end.

The hotel is lovely, and everything you would want to see is very easilt accesible by train. The food is wonderful, the hotel is spotless, and the service is exceptional. If you are looking for a top notch experience, with the best service possible, look no further. The front desk services is the very besyt- giving us everything from advice on hot spots, daily directions, and fantastic tickets to the top shows in town. Haad we not already planned to travel on to Vienna, I would have loved to stay another few nights, and I definitely will look forward to our return!!
