delightful!
Rooms are very spacious and clean, beds are comfortable and the hotel is just five minutes walk from Tower Hill tube station (thus very easily accessible). Staff was quick and effective, I loved everything in Apex, so I will most definitely stay there again & recommend it to everyone!! |

one of the best in Europe!
Apex City of London Hotel was absolutely one of the best hotels I have stayed in Europe. First of all, everything in romm was near to perfect; it was very big with king size bed, sofa, coffe table... and a very clean bathroom -the most important item for me- with tube and shower inside. Location was also very good, just some minutes walk to Tower Hill tube station and you can easily reach to the every point of the city by metro. |

"Everything is perfect"
I stayed here in the end of July for 2 nights and it was a pleasant surprise. Everything was close to perfect from the room, the very large and comfortable bed, bathroom, service, professional staff, bar and restaurant. Located in a quiet street with a minutes walk to Tower Hill tube station it was also perfect for easy travelling around the city. I am in London quite often and this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

"Excellent stay at the apex"
As we had a throughly horrible stay at the Bluebell in Notting Hill on our last London trip, we spent more time researching hotels this time. The Apex looked and sounded too good to be true but went for it anyway.
On approaching check in we were told there had been a problem with the booking system and the hotel was over booked. Expecting to be searching London for a place to stay and losing our West End show booking, we were told that they had booked us into another hotel just a few minutes away and that we could return to the Apex in the morning for the next night.
Yes it was an inconvenience but the way the Apex staff took care of us was second to none. While we waited for a taxi paid for by them they gave us drinks, then a member of staff actually accompanied us to the other hotel to make sure everything went smoothly. The room we ended up with was actually twice as much as the room we booked at the Apex and very nice.
In the morning a taxi was called for us and we returned to the Apex for the remainder of our stay and the fare taken care of. When we arrived we were told that we had been given an upgrade due to the inconvenience we had plus a bottle of wine was sitting on the table in our room.
The Apex is in an excellent location, the hotel itself is very modern, clean and rooms are large. We could not fault the attitude and service of the staff. We won't be staying anywhere else, hopefully, on our future London trips.

"Great hotel - fantastic value for money"
I stayed at the hotel for one night. On arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly and professional receptionist. Our room was great - large, stylish, clean and well equipped. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Breakfast in particular was excellent. We managed to get down to the restaurant 5 minutes before they stopped serving but we were not made to feel like we had to rush and unlike other hotels they didn't start clearing everything away around us. The food was great too - everything was freshly cooked and of high quality (and I am extremely fussy where food is concerned). I like the location too. It's on the edge of the city so is quiet at the weekend but it's still close to the river, St Katharine Docks and Tower Bridge. All-in-all, considering the price, this was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Quite an achievement for London!

"Great hideaway, will definitely return"
Having had my fingers burnt before with so-called "luxury" hotels, I was more than a little wary of the Apex, especially as I couldn't find any reviews. Luckily I was delighted by this quiet little refuge, even with reduced price room.
Admittedly the lighting in the rooms isn't that great and the showerhead isn't massive, but as long as you're not planning to operate in your room and don't have a body circumference of more than 12 foot you can easily manage in both the power-shower and bath.
A massive comfy bed, large desk (with internet and power point connections) huge widescreen TV, DVD player, great walk-in shower and seperate bath plus the added bonus of a free rubber duck! Quiet but central location (District and Circle lines) meant I had lots of quiet nights. A definite must if you're looking for a quiet, safe hotel with great access to the city and a relaxing stay. I'll definitely be going back.
My only complaint - rather boring view of a brickwall and office block but who spends all their time staring out of the window?!

"Brillant ... and great value"
Stayed for a weekend while in London to visit the Boat Show. Hidden away behind the Tower of London this is a real find - just opened two months ago, its on the edge of the City, so quiet at the weekend - really peaceful and serene - the only drawback is that surrounding restaurants tend to be closed Sat/Sun but we walked acros Tower Bridge to Butlers Wharf (turn left coming off the Bridge) and found lots of interested eateries (10mins away). Reception booked restaurent, rang and checked it was open, printed menu from website and organised taxi for us. Thanks Owen Murphy (Assistant Manager... great service with a welcoing smile and he's Irish ,of course!)
Great hotel, glass and wood dominate the lobby, bright rooms, lots of space and the best staff I have found in any London hotel. Open plan bar/lobby/coffee shop and all for 70stg per night. Go before its discovered. Last year we stayed in the Mandarin Oriental while visiting the Boast Show - and this is better! Cannot recommend highly enough - we will certainly be back.
