"Great experience"
I stayed in a King size room on the 8th floor.
This has been one of my most pleasant hotel experiences I have had. It was almost all troublefree. All the staff are the most friendliest and helpful I have ever had. Nothing was too much trouble and they also help plan your holiday in their business section.
I arrived early before checkin at 2PM. With heavy jetlag they got me a nice room early.
The room was much bigger than I expected, and very clean. Some nice touches include an iron (and board), a microwave, a safe, wireless broadband which works quite well and a DVD player. This was my first time in the US, so it is difficult to compare it with other US hotels, but this one definitely met all my expectations.
Probably the only problem I could find was that my in-room phone would randomly ring 2 or 3 times. And this occured one night at 4AM and then 5AM on another. Never got to the phone in time to ever answer, but this was a little annoying. But I can't say whether this was something the hotel could have fixed anyway. On some nights you could hear some noise coming from the lower streets, but nothing to stop someone who is reasonably tired from sleeping.
Oh and some for advise for anyone out there booking through bookit.com. I will never go through this website again. On booking I got error messages coming up, so I kept retrying until giving up. Then I found out I had booked 5 times. The website resolved this problem for me, but the customer service was very very slow to respond and the website failed to book some add-on packages I chose.
Did someone say something about a pool?? Never even knew there was one!
A very enjoyable 3 night stay, especially for the price.

"Great Place to Stay- please read! will come back again"
Stayed at the Wave May 31 - June 6. Our plane arrived 10am- so we tried to check in early. The Front desk attendant said our room will not be ready untill 3. We came back at 3pm, and recieved our room.. Horrible- right in front if the elevator. I knew they were 98% full so I asked to be put on a waitlist for a room change, but Trevor said that he'll see what he can do. We went down an hour later to check the status, and he said he can move us! The new room was great. I was expecting the same room size, but he upgraded us to a partial ocean view with double balconies...WONDERFUL! this was the start of a great vacation! Location is key. International market right next door, jack in the box across the street, and 5 minute walk from the beach!
I was concerned about the water pressure, because we didn't have much in the shower. To my stupidity all you had to do was turn the 'volume' dial. Pressure was great!
I would and will definately stay here again! The staff is so cute and friendly, the rooms are very stylish and comfortable, and the overall price isn't that much bad either.
Parking was not very hard either. Although the garage is small, we never had problems with looking for a spot.
Apples were at the fromt desk every morning, house keeping did a GREAT JOB, and left us cookies on our pillows!!!!
Microwave was convienent, but the fridge didn't have much coldness to it.
The downstairs Chineese Restaurant was not very good, and very pricey.
At night, you can hear the band from the Kaiulani playing.. not annoying, but soothing!
Give this hotel a try- Im pretty sure you'll love it-
the staff is great! always willing to give us directions!!! Bell men were great- felt like family!
