excellent value comfortable Swiss hotel
My wife and I stayed here two nights half board(Aug 08) and since it was quiet they up graded us free of charge. the reception area is large and the staff very friendly and their multi-lingusitic skills very good. Our room was large, clean with stylish modern decor. We had two matresses pushed together on what could have been one double bed. The bathroom was immaculate with a lovely powerful shower. Breakfast is a large continental Swiss style, with plenty of variety, cereals, meats, fruits etc. The evening meals were best, five course menus with a choice in starters and main courses. They did vegetarian for my wife. The quality was definately better on the Friday than the Saturday although Saturday evenings food was in no way bad a at all! Starters were normally traditional Swiss dishes, then soup, a buffet salad bar, main course (meat or fish) followed by desert or cheese. I sampled both the desert and cheese on different night and both were excellent. The hotel provide free transfers to and from the station (Davos Platz). We did not have time to sample the sauna or pool but overall i highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, food and staff. If you play golf then there's a course right on your doorstep.

" high-class hotel with excellent amenities"
Arabella Sheraton Waldhuus Hotel is a high-class hotel with excellent amenities. Our room was a little on the small side, with rather too much furniture for a small space - but we had our own balcony. Unless you go half-board, on Sunday and Monday evenings the restaurant serves the room-service menu, but for the rest of the week there is no option but to have the significantly more expensive gourmet menu. And the maitre d' wouldn't budge on that. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the town centre, but they will happily collect you and your luggage from the station and deliver you back.

Arabella Sheraton Waldhuus Hotel was lovely,clean with a good atmosphere. The breakfast was terrific and the meal that we had in the Restaurant was excellent. We only wish that we had allowed more time to spend in Davos.

"the best adress in Davos!"
I stayed for the second time at this lovely hotel, standing a short walk outside of the city, in a nice location right on the cross country slopes and on the border of the forest. Rooms are so cosy, restaurant is nice and staff very friendly. I stayed at least at 6 or 7 hotels in Davos in last 3 years (incl. Seehof, Steigenberger, Flüela) but this one is simply great! Dont look for another hotel if you have the chance to stay here.

"Great Value at this High Quality Hotel"
Stayed one night in February. Booked it through Twinroom and got it for less than half the published price. It's excellent value if you book half board, because you get a five course dinner for not much more than the room price included. The hotel is a short distance from the centre of town - you really need a car to get here, or use the bus (the hotel gives you free bus passes when you check in) and offers underground garage car parking at an additional cost. Overall the feel is of an exclusive chalet set in the woods. The reception is polite and helpful. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was spacious, with a large entrance area, large room with two arm chairs, and a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel and the mountains. Decor is modern, cosy and stylish, and the bathroom is fresh and clean, with a large tub and a separate glass shower cubicle, but only one sink. Hairdryer is provided but is the travel type, so not great for unruly hair like mine! The hotel has a good wellness area, which was just slightly spoilt by the fact that they allow small children in, so we didn't get the peace and quiet we'd have liked after snowboarding all day. Didn't use the tiny but lovely pool (with rock feature waterfall at one end) but used the sauna (which has twinkly lights in the ceiling that change colour - very relaxing), showers (which have lots of power and pulsation options) and relaxation room which has a door to go out into the snow if you so choose. Dinner is in the relaxed dining room, chalet style, with good service and a couple of options for each course. I had a small portion of squash risotto, a juice, a lovely salad from the buffet, and then a beautiful portion of salmon with potatoes and ratatouille for mains. Couldn't manage any dessert! There were no veggie or fish options on the set menu but on asking, was told I could have whatever I wanted so asked for some salmon, which came beautifully cooked. Breakfast was a huge buffet with cold meats, smoked salmon, muesli and cereal, hot eggs, pancakes, sausages, yoghurts, fruits, breads, rolls and pastries, prosecco, and even schnapps if you wanted it. A really good way to set you up for a day's skiing, even if it means you don't hit the slopes till 12 because the buffet's so enticing! The only problem I encountered was the fact that I precisely asked for a double bed, not twin, but found two mattresses when I got to the room. Called reception and asked to change and they said they'd check availability and call me back. A porter came up to the room twice in the meantime and very confused, asked if we wanted the beds separated. I clearly asked for one big mattress, not two separate beds, but he seemed to take an age to understand, whether in English or German! Spoke to the front desk again, who said they were fully booked so we couldn't change room and anyway they don't have king sized mattresses. So be warned. Anyway, it didn't prove a problem in the end, as we were very comfortable. Overall a lovely hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
