"Very nice stay at the Arcotel Allegra Zagreb"
We stayed here for 1 night after taking a train from Venice. The room was nice and comfortable with a great bathroom. The breakfast included with the room was excellent and the staff friendly.
It took us about 5-10 mintes to walk from the train station |

"Excellent hotel"
We stayed for 2 nights in May 06 on a 10 night tour of Croatia. Billed as a ‘lifestyle’ hotel, virtually everything about this hotel is just right. We were walk-in guests as the hotel we were planning to stay in was in a very run down part of the city and was itself much run down, so we did not stay as planned. Reception was friendly and efficient; we were offered a very good weekend rate without asking, and as street parking was difficult the receptionist went and stood in a vacant place to make sure I got it while I collected my car! The room is furnished in blonde wood and is themed – we found it interesting, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast was the best we had in Croatia, efficiently served and excellent food – whoever wrote coffee in Croatia is not good didn’t stay at this hotel. Free internet access was provided for guests (other hotels take note) and the bar serves excellent cocktails with live music. Overall a very good experience. The only minor niggle (and it is minor) is the hotel has no provided guest parking other than in a pay-per-hour garage. You generally can’t park on the street in Zagreb so the garage has to be used, and as this is charged by the hour, it gets expensive.

"Modern, efficient, excellent and affordable"
We stayed at the Arcotel Allegra twice in the last few weeks with 2 small children. The first visit was planned and we stayed 2 nights at the weekend. The price was only €104 for the room including breakfast for all 4 of us. The standard of accomodation was excellent, the staff were very friendly, the rooms and common areas were all clean. Although the hotel was clearly of 4* status it was not at all stuffy but very relaxed. Food was not expensive and certainly not the prices expected for a city centre hotel. I disagree with the previous reviewer about the accomodation. It was a few minutes walk from the train station and some of Zagreb's parks and about 15 minutes walk from the main square but the tram stop was right outside the hotel for those not wanting to walk.
On our second visit, our flight home was cancelled and we needed to find accomodation. We walked in off the street and the same weekend rate was offered, unlike most hotels that would take the opportunity to charge higher rates. Agin the service was excellent anf friendly.
The free internet in the bar area was as added bonus especially as we had to make new flight arrangemnts, and included a free printer attached which allowed printing from the computers. Again many hotels would charge extra for these services.
The hotel was family friendly too, offering extra beds for children and very relaxed about children in the hotel and bar. The only thing missing was a swimming pool!
I would recommed this to anyone staying in Zagreb.

"Very modern, really great"
This hotel was not only lovely, but extremely chic and high tech by Croatian standards. The rooms were awesome and decorated very whimsically. The staff was keen to do anything they could to help as well as to chat and share their experience of living in that part of the word and seemed very interested in talking with and getting to know their customers a bit as well. Completely charming. The free internet was as unusual as it was welcomed. The Allegra offered an modern oasis to the old world style of the rest of Zagreb and provided a very pleasurable balance, espeically for a Westerner. Recommend it highly.

"loved it, hope to return"
Clean, modern, great shower, great breakfast, friendly staff, lovely lobby area with bar and free internet, it was all we could do to tear ourselves away and see Zagreb, but we're certainly glad we did - such a lovely city. I can't wait to get back to Croatia.

"I really loved this hotel"
Arcotel allegra was really something special. A 4* hotel which only cost just over £50 booked directly through their website. It was only a 5 min walk from the train station and bus station and 10 min walk from the city centre. The room was wonderfully spacious and modern and had a luxury quality to it. There were little touches in the room and the hotel which made it special. There was a lovely cafe bar in its lobby and internet access (although admittedly people did have to sit and wait as there was only 1 computer). I would definitely go back to this hotel if I'm ever in Zagreb again, and would try to find some more hotels in the chain.

"Great pick, highly recommend"
We loved this modern, sleek hotel. It's about a 10-15 minute walk through lovely parks to the main square. The rooms are nice and well appointed. The breakfast buffet is wonderful! As we had a very early flight out they packed us a large breakfast bag to go. It's close to the main train station and bus station.
