"Am in love with Klagenfurt and the Moser Verdino...."
We have just returned from 3 nights in Klagenfurt, staying at the Hotel Moser Verdino and I may sound a little over the top, but it was quite the nicest place I have ever been to....
The staff at the hotel were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for them. They sorted out a game of golf so that it worked out cheaper and also when one of us , without our realising, left his mobile phone behind, whilst on the way to the airport, the hotel rang the taxi we were in and arranged for the phone to be delivered, to the airport. How good is that?
The rooms themselves are fairly basic but stylish, very neat and clean, and breakfast was substantial, served in the cafe. This was also the place where we sampled the great beers and Bellini type drinks served by Christian. Again nothing was too much trouble...
Klagenfurt is a delight. We ate many delicious meals ranging from lunch at the Organic Food Fair, Italian and an exceptional meal at the Landhaushof Restaurant. Typical Carinthian Food. WOW!! (Not that expensive either.)
Spend a day at Lake Worthersee, it is beautiful and easily reached using local buses.
If you play golf (like husband and daughter's boyfriend) go to Seltenheim, well worth a visit.
I cannot wait to return to Klagenfurt. Small but perfectly formed...a little piece of heaven...
