Arctic Comfort Hotel Vik is a friendly hotel located just 15 minutes walk from the start of Laugavegur, the main artery for shopping and dinning in Reykjavik. The generously sized bedrooms all have telephone, television, modem connection and shower. 11 of the 23 bedrooms also have a kitchenette, which is ideal for long stays in the Icelandic capital. The breakfast is a generous continental buffet made of fresh products bought in the local shops. This hotel is family owned so rest assured you will always get a warm welcome whenever you step in.

Arctic Comfort Vik Hotel is located ca. 2 km from the city centre (ca. 30 min. walk or 5 min. by bus) From Keflavik airport by Flybus: The Flybus takes you to the Bus Terminal in Reykjavik and thereafter to Hotel Vik. By car: Follow Road nr.41 Via Hafnarfjördur, Gardabaer and Kopavogur. Look for Sidumuli, Armuli or Sudurlandsbraut on your Reykjavik map. That will lead you to the hotel.

Lack of friendliness, but acceptable with this exception
The reception had a rather strange view of friendliness. Neither did they greet their guests when coming, nor did they give much help when asked for advices with for example advices regarding the airport buses. The rooms were clean when we came, but getting new towels was rather challenging. The location is about a half hour walk from the city core, but regular buses go with about 10- 20 min frequency. The rooms were good and breakfast was good. In total acceptable locations with a lack of friendliness!

"Perfect - Recommend"
The room was large, clean, and comfortable. We had a great view of the mountains to the east. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is near Reykjavik's largest swimming facility, which we used and enjoyed. The hotel is about a 7 minute drive from old town, too far to walk for most people. But we don't know why one would want to stay downtown. The traffic in old town is heavy, and the area quite noisy. From the Hotel Vik it is easy to get onto the main roads to go into the hinterlands or back to the airport. I suppose if you didn't have a car, you would want to stay in old town, but why on earth would you not have a car. There is so much to see in Iceland, and the tours are very expensive, a rental car is the only way to go. This is our second trip to Iceland. On our first trip, 3 full days, we spent out time driving and enjoying the incredible sites. On this trip, we spent one full day at the Blue Lagoon. Loved it. Got a massage there. Wonderful. One full day walking around Reykjavik, and one day driving to the north. The first time we had driven to the east.
