LOCATION

The Aria Hotel is located in Mala Strana (Lesser Town), within close walking distance of all tourist attractions in Central Prague. Mala Strana is one of the oldest districts in Prague and it is conjoined to the east bank of Vltava River by the Charles Bridge. The town was founded in 1257 as a royal town and the Malostranske Namesti (The marketplace) was its centre. The area features the great examples of Baroque architecture such as the Albert von Wallenstein’s Palace, St. Nicholas Church and the Church of Our Lady Victorious, home of the statue named the Infant Jesus of Prague. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and embassies in this district as well.

On the north is the Prague Castle, the biggest ancient castle complex in the world, with its palaces, churches, gardens and museum. As an excellent example of Gothic architecture and the most important church in Czech Republic, the St. Vitus Cathedral is situated here as well.

On your way from the castle to the Old Town Square, you can see the Rudolfinum on your left where the Czech Philarmonic Orchestra performs, situated at the Jan Palach Square. The Prague Spring Festival is held every year in May and June while the Rudolfinum is one of the main venues for this festival.

The Old Town Square features numerous exciting sights such as the Church of Our Lady in front of Tyn, the other St. Nicholas Church, the Old Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock. The Wenceslas Square where the National Museum and the State Opera are located is five minutes walking distance from this square. This square is the commercial centre of the New Town and it boasts plenty of entertainment, shopping and dining facilities.

The closest public transportation link is the Malostranske Namesti tram station, approximately 200 metres (650 feet) from the Aria Hotel. To reach the hotel from the Prague Ruzyne Airport by using public transportation, you can get on the Airport Express which will take you to Dejvicka, transfer to metro line A to arrive at Malostranska and finally you can take the tram no. 22 to Malostranske Namesti.
