"Excellent Hotel"
This is a fairly new hotel (opened November 2006) and the rooms are top class with very modern fixures and fittings -flat screen TV, courtesy dressing gowns etc. The bathrooms are particularly stunning. Compared to UK hotels I would say this is 5 star standard, however the price was excellent . We booked directly with the hotel and paid 494 Euros for 4 nights (about £338). It actually doesn't feel like a hotel as the reception is sited in a high class shopping mall (Armani etc). Although there is a restaurant, there is no bar area so there are no social areas within the hotel - if that is what you are looking for.
Breakfast was included and was fairly typical continental style with a few hot items - eggs etc.
The hotel is however ideally sited in the old town and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within the immediate vicinity. I would highly recommend the Italian 2 or 3 doors up from the hotel and the Butterfly restaurant further down Laurinska. Wherever you eat and drink in Bratislavia it is very cheap compared to the UK. All in all an excellent stay - would recommend the hotel, particularly for couples and would definately visit Bratislavia again.

"Fantastic Room at the EA Art William Hotel; Front Desk Reception was Marginal"
We recently stayed at this hotel at the end of April for one night. This hotel is rated 4-stars, but the rooms remind me of 5-star properties. The hotel was perfectly located in Old Town Bratislava (pedestrian zone), but was a bit hard to find (look for the two vertical banners draped above the door on either side indicating the name of the hotel. The hotel is actually located inside a small retail mall so be sure to match up building with the exact street address. Once you enter through the glass front doors of the mall, the hotel check-in room/office is on the right (it is small). You then go through another glass door to check in. There is no counter, but only a low office desk. You sit on the opposite side of the desk in one of two office chairs (too low for the office desk) and complete the registration. Although the two people sitting at the front desk were friendly, they were a little unprofessional in their behavior.
Once inside our room, we were amazed at its high quality and the very contemporary interior design. The room appeared very new and modern. It was was spotless and the chrome was polished in the bathroom. The room even had a nice sized flat panel TV on the wall. There is free internet access and a safe in the room. The only down side was that it took three calls to the front desk to get the AC to come on. In fact, it wasn't until we returned late in the evening and called a third time did they finally turn on the AC. We would have slept with the window open, but the revelers were pretty loud in the pedestrian zone. I don't know if there are rooms not facing the pedestrian zone, but they would have been quieter if available.

"Great Location"
Stayed here for 5 nights mid June 2007. The location in the old town of Bratislava could not be beaten. Although we had a room facing the pedestrianised street there was no noise disturbance. The hotel is just off the main area of bars and there is sufficient low key police presence at the weekend to deal with any over zealous stag party revellers. Good places to eat and drink minutes away. Would particularly recommend 'The Argentinian Steakhouse' for a fantastic steak/mixed grill. (£15 per head for 2 courses plus wine or beer). Security at hotel was good with magnetic card entry to use lifts and access room. Breakfast good although cooked choices limited. The bedroom was large with comfortable queen bed and clean, modern bathroom (weird shallow revolving wash basin!). Quirky setting within small upmarket shopping mall (Does anyone ever go into those designer shops where the prices are too high to fit on price tags?) with reception to one side (It was closed when we arrived at 1.15pm but was open again by 2.30pm) Fridge and air conditioning very welcome at 28degrees +. Large wall mounted TV had 20 channels (CNN/Sky News) Highly recommend this hotel for a short stay to see Bratislava. Be sure to catch the 29 bus (6 miles) up to Devin Castle for fantastic views across the Danube and don't miss Bratislava Castle itself or the Old Town Hall museum.

"Loved the Art Hotel William"
My husband and I stayed at the Art Hotel William for three nights. We were very pleased with the size of the room, which included a large plasma TV, a comfortable king size bed and a good size bathroom. The decor was modern and stylish and the room was very clean. We were suprised that the hotel was located within a very upscale mall filled with boutiques such as La Perla, Armani and Rock & Republic. The hotel was centrally located and we found that we were in walking distance of the castle and the churches. I would definitely stay here again.
