"A really great hotel"
I stayed at Athens Imperial the previous week during the Athens Fashion Week. I had great time. The hotel is big with an amazing breakfast the most important is that the subway st. is 10 meters from the hotel. Is the same line that goes to Acropolis and to Syntagma. The room was spacious enough and in the marble bathroom you can play football (is very big compared to other hotels that i stayed before). The reception gave me a very nice room, which was an upgrade of the room that I booked. The staff was really helpfull to everything with me and my friend and in the amazing Atrium Restaurant I ate the best french fries ever! The only thing that I did not like at all was the fact that the roof garden was allready closed for the winter and I didn't have the oportunity to admire the breathtaking view . They have done great job there. I will be back guys...

"Athens Imperial was very nice"
We stayed for 4 nights at the Athens Imperial- The rooms were very large and the bathrooms very spacious too- The hotel was built in '04 for the Olympics- it is very clean and the buffet breakfast had a nice selelction.
The location is a block away from the metro station- Take the metro to the 3rd stop, Syntagma and you will be about 3 blocks from the Plaka- the metro is .80 euros- We even took it to the airport - $.80 euro each verses $45.00 for a taxi!! for the airport route -you switch on to the "blue line" at Symtagma and then get off at the last stop, just wait in the station for the train wihich drops you off right across friom the airline terminals.Metro runs from 5:30 am .

"Great hotel, great location"
The Athens Imperial is a well-appointed, clean, centrally located hotel. The metro is one or two blocks away for easy access to all of Athen's major attractions. After a 10-hour flight from New York, my husband and I checked in and quickly headed to the rooftop bar for a snack. We were amazed by the gorgeous view of the Acropolis and Mt. Liccavitus. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and made it a point to visit the rooftop every night to savor the nighttime view. The moon rises from behind the mountains - a spectacular site further illuminated by the lights at the Acropolis.
The breakfast buffet has a wonderful selection. The gym was mediocre at best with broken/outdated equipment. Be warned - the gym has porthole windows that allow a clear view of swimmers in the pool.
Rooms were spacious with bathrooms unlike what we experienced anywhere in Greece. We would highly recommend this hotel.

"One of our best stays"
My husband and I just returned from a ten day trip to Greece and a few of the islands. We absolutely loved the Athens Imperial Hotel! We are use to staying at three or four star hotels so this was our first stay in a five star. The breakfast was amazing- all kinds of fruit, cereals and hot food to choose from. The wait staff was very attentive. Also, the hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. They answered many of our questions about where to find nearby stores. The morning we left, we didn't ask for room service, but they brought up to us anyway a beautiful assortment of breads and fresh squeezed orange juice. The rooms are spacious and the washrooms are very modern and clean. We loved it!

"Loved the Athens Imperial"
The Athens Imperial is a beautiful new hotel that has first class rooms, food and service. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back. The location was close to a metro station which allowed me to save on taxi fares. The rooms were beautiful as were the large, luxurious bathrooms complete with robes and slippers.

"Best hotel I have stayed in"
An amazing hotel! Bedroom was excellent - fluffy pillows, comfy sheets, very clean, room is equipped with ironing board, huge TV and radio/CD player. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Breakfast is great - a huge buffet selection. Beware - the staff are bipolar!

"Exceeded my epxectations.."
A friend and I travelled to Athens for the weekend in early October 2005. The rate we paid was extremely reasonable, having found a special rate for American Express cardholders on Orbitz. The hotel looms right in front of you as you exit the Metaxourghio Metro stop. The lobby was a decent size and floors polished. The staff at the front desk were more than accommodating, as we often had inquiries for them. They even allowed us to extend our checkout time by over 3 hours without charging us more. As our flight was not until the late evening, the hotel held our baggage for us until we were ready to head out to the airport.
The room was quite large for a European hotel, with excellent views of Karaiskaki Square. The bathroom was large compared even to American hotels. The bathroom featured a separate glass enclosed shower stall and a nice bathroom-very rare for Europe. High qualty toiletries were included of course. The views from the roftop pool area are quite stunning. Overall, and having stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world, I can recommend this hotel to any traveller to Athens.
And when it comes to the neighborhood, just keep walking towards your destination and don't act like a tourist (same advice to travellers in any city). My friend and I (who look like Americans and don't speak a word of Greek!) were out quite late walking from Omonia Square back to the hotel and encountered no problems.
