Not a bad dollar value
We stayed for 4 days in September (08). The air conditioner/heater wasn't working so it's a good thing the window opened. The beds were okay but the pillows were not and there were no spare pillows or blankets. The bathtub/shower did not drain well. The good part was that the breakfast buffet was nice and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was convenient, although the neighbourhood was a bit on the dodgy side, as one other reviewer wrote. It looks like they are trying to clean it up but we were never worried about our personal safety. Transportation was a block away, the Banhof 4 blocks, or a 1 minute ride on the U-bahn. I'd stay again. |

"Hotel Atlantis: Good hotel and base to eplore Vienna"
Having been booked into another hotel nearby we were relocated to the Hotel Atlantis when our original hotel was double booked. We found the hotel was clean and the staff pleasant and friendly. The only down side were the beds, they were quite narrow, not that the room was small, there was adequate space for wider beds. The hotel is well positioned with a U-bahn station nearby enabling you to travel to the centre of Vienna in no more than 15 minutes, thus making the hotel a good base for exploring the city. There is a small supermarket nearby and on Burgstrasse there are a number of restaurants, including Indian, Chinese and Japanese.
I can recommend this hotel from our experience and would certainly stay there again.

"nice hotel in vienna"
the hotel is really nice, located one block from the u-bahn (u6)
the hotel is very clean, rooms are big, and breakfast was great.
the only problem was that the elevator wasnt working all the time, luckily it was working when we had to take our lugguge.
they have an internet for free there, but the connection is really slow.
afterall, its really a good choice for staying in vienna.

"Good basic hotel"
The Atlantis was a nice clean hotel one short block from the u bahn (subway), which made it very convenient. There was not much in the neighborhood, but it was easy to get all over town on the subway. Our room was large, very clean, and somewhat depressing, yet a real value for the money. The breakfast was substantiual and held in a nice dining room and best of all there was free internet access in the lobby.

"Excellent hotel"
We stayed at the Atlantis on a package from Austrian Airlines and liked it so much we chose it again on a return independent-travel visit to Vienna. Small, not fancy; but clean and comfortable, with friendly staff. Attractive breakfast room. Fifteen minutes from city center by Metro; Metro station one block away.

"Great hotel - convenient, clean & large room"
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights of our honeymoon, and we loved it! It was convenient, very good value, clean, we got a great room and offered staff provided excellent service.
We stayed in room 317 which was a non-smoking room. Because smoking is so common in Vienna I'd recommend that you specify if you want a smoking or non-smoking room.
The room was huge, as it had an entrance hall, a separate sitting room, and even the bedroom itself was big! The room was incrediby clean (i was worried having read some other reviews on this website before we arrived that said that the rooms were not clean). The hotel is relatively modern as well. The beds were very comfortable, but the pillows were a bit too soft. The bathroom had a bath as well as a shower. The room was airconditioned, but we could also open all the windows. There was a safe in the room, a mini-bar, and a TV with several channels in English.
The service couldn't have been better, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We went for our honeymoon, and they left a small bottle of champagne in the room for us, and a welome note!
The hotel was next door to a shopping centre that had a supermarket and several restaurants, which was convenient. in the shopping centre there was a chinese restaurant which offered an all you can eat buffet for 5 euro each, and it was fresh and great!
The hotel was also very close to a subway station, which was hugely convenient, and fairly close to the city centre.
My only negative comment in relation to the hotel is that the neighbourhood it was located in was a bit dodgy. There were several sex shops and other like establishments, and it was a bit scary walking around the neighbourhood at night, but since the subway was so close to the hotel, we only had to walk for a minute, so it wasn't too bad.
The breakfast was great - there was a huge array of food!!
I'd highly recommend this hotel!

"Good Location at good price"
The location of the "Atlantis" is great. We saw Billy Joel in concert in the "Stadthalle", which is just a three minutes walk from the "Atlantis". The hotel is also very close to a subway-station ("Burggasse/Stadthalle"), from where it's only one station to the central railway-station of vienna ("Westbahnhof"). One more advantage is the nearby shopping-center ("Lugner City"), where you can make a lot of shopping, go to the cinema or eat (e.g. "Burger King").
Our room was not to the street and therefore very quiet. Air condition did work well. The room was ok for a 4-stars, but nothing special. The bathroom (with shower) was also ok. Room and bath were very clean. As we stayed only one night we cannot evaluate the cleaning service.
The breakfast was (as the room) ok, but nothing special.
Staff was very friendly! As we arrived our air condition made a strange noise. We told that a friendly lady at the reception and when we returned from shopping the problem was fixed.
All in all a good hotel at a good place in vienna, especially when you want to visit a concert or anything like that at the "Stadthalle". Our rate "above average" results out of the price-quality-ratio as we paid about EUR 100,00 for the room for one night which is rather cheap for a four-stars-hotel in vienna.
