"great deal"
My mom and i stayed for 2 nights while we dropped my bro at camp. We had a smooth check in, a spotless room, fabulous AC and easy acess to the ice machine the car parked outside and the lobby. The breakfast included fresh fruit, cereals, waffels, bagels and pastries. Coffee, milk of any type and four different types of juice. It will satisfy picky eaters and adults alike. The location is perfect; close to the mall but far away enough to not have a noise issue. I would come back. The only issue i have is they dont accept pets which kills it for me because i love traveling with my toy poodle. otherwise a great deal

"Great stay - Excellent value"
Stayed here 1 night on Sept. 29th. We had stayed here before about 1 year ago and found it good. We booked on-line and everything was fine. If you're nervous about this call a few days before just to confirm your reservation. I've never had a problem.
The thing that impressed me before about this hotel is friendliness of the staff. Nothing has changed. Every maid and the front desk were very friendly and eager to help. Check-in was smooth and fast. The room was clean and well maintained. The continental breakfast was good with good selection. However it was busy with the fall follage tours and the breakfast room was pretty crowded.
We especially liked the pillows and there were enough towels in the room for the 3 of us. Many hotels seem to only plan for 2 in a room which leaves you scrambling for an extra towel.
All in all we enjoyed our brief stay and highly recommend it for those needing to spend a night or 2 in South Portland. A good value.

Complete turnaround
Since my last entry, I've met the manager of the hotel, who handled the situation flawlessly. The "postal" waiter has been fired, I've received credit for a free meal in the hotel and offered use of the sauna facilities and been - once again - treated superbly by all of the staff. Highest marks and many thanks to Herr Zeismann for turning this situation around. |

"Accomodating Service, Good Location"
The hotel is right across the street from the metro stop, which provides easy and fast access to anything within the city. It is only 15 minute metro ride away from one of the train stations and 10 minute ride into the heart of the city. The hotel was clean and spacious compared to other European hotel rooms. It had AC which was very nice during an extremely hot weekend in May (just remember to leave one of your key cards in the electricity slot while you're gone to have it cool the room down). The bathroom was clean and big, but the hairdryer looked and worked like a broken dustbuster. Our 1st room had water damage on the bathroom ceiling and the staff was very accomodating and nice to help us switch rooms late at night (11pm) in a 'fully' booked hotel. It took only a little convincing and complaining, but they were happy to have made us more comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful (yay to 5 different kinds of breads) and included in the reasonable price we paid. There were fruits, breads, cold cuts, cheeses, some cereal, milk, coffee and juice. Great to load up for budget travelers before a big day of sightseeing. One of the most comfortable hotels I have stayed in in Europe (budget traveler opinion). |
