"Highly Recommended" My wife and I recently spent 3 wonderful nights at the Furst Metternich and we recommend it highly. The desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room and bath were very clean and quiet. The included breakfast was quite good (see the other reviews). We had to leave early our last day (before breakfast), and the staff ofered to pack a lunch for us. The hotel location was also excellent, a short walk up to Mariahilfer Strasse and the U Bahn station. We walked to the Old City the first day but took the convienient U Bahn after that because of the chill in the air. We could not have asked for more.

"A lovely quiet few days but so convenient for the centre" I requested a quiet room & we got an excellent one. They were obviously quite full (seeing the number of people at breakfast) but we would not have known. We cane here for the theatre & it is so easy to get to the centre by tube link. Breakfast was sumptuous & the room big and the bed very comfortable. It was lovely and warm at a cold time of year. The reception staff could not have been more helpful & they locked our bags away on our last day, until we needed to leave for the airport in the afternoon. Highly recommended.

"Old World Charm" Hotel Furst Metternich is a small three-star European-style hotel. If you are looking for a standard chain hotel or a luxury property, you should look elsewhere. But if you are familiar with European-style properties and enjoy a hotel with more Old World charm, you will not be disappointed by the Hotel Furst Metternich. As an older property with fewer windows, this hotel is not terribly bright inside. But, the rooms and public areas are clean and well-maintained. I found the front desk and breakfast room staff to be exceptionally helpful and friendly. A welcoming smile can make all the difference after a busy day of sightseeing. The Hotel is very close to the Zieglergasse underground stop on Mariahilferstrasse, Viennas main shopping street. The hotel bar, Barflys, is an American barthink martinis and Ella Fitzgeraldthat is popular with locals. Checkout the hotels website for possible special rates. I have fond memories of my stay at the Hotel Furst Metternich and believe that it was an excellent value, especially when you factor in the breakfast provided daily.
