"Aviz Hotel was outstanding "
Aviz Hotel was outstanding and well worth the 130 euros/nite with breakfast. The bed was huge and not the typical small euro bed. The room was huge, clean, fancy bath. The hotel was pretty walkable to the barrio alto. Also it is right on the metro line which is very easy to get around, once you get by the kiosk thing to buy your tix. Jovani, Aruba

Aviz Hotel has a good location, friendly staff and very clean and presentable. Only issue was our air-con could only be controlled by reception so in order to have it switched off/on or to alter the temperature we had to call reception. Reece, Andorra La Vella

Aviz Hotel room was comfortable, quiet and the location is great: it's very close to the underground Station of Marquise Pombal and close to the centre of the city, and to the transports to and from the Airport. Breakfast is fabulous, people working there are very kind and nice. The only problem I had was that the window of my room wasn't on the street but on a small internal court, so no much to see, but anyway the area is not in a characteristic landscape, so it's ok.

"Well chosen"
We booked via Venere & read Tripadviser reviews first. Aviz was like walking into an Oasis after a long journey. The staff welcomed us, answered every single question with a smile & nothing seemed wastoo much trouble. Its a first class hotel without the price tag. The full breakfast were the best of our 5 week journey around Spain & Portugal. The rooms are so stunning that you'll want to replicate its decor. They are beautifully cleaned every day (5 nts) & a chocolate was left on our pillows. ALL the staff are the same - polite, well groomed & friendly. Its well-located 1 min. walk from Pombal metro. Its hard to find any criticism however, I found the bed a little firm whereas my husband loved it.

"Fantastic stay at a fantastic hotel"
We spent four nights at the Hotel Aviz in late November, 2006. We had a lovely signature suite on the fifth floor. The room was in perfect shape, and spotlessly clean. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We had booked our stay through the internet at a very favorable price, about one-third the posted rate, but received royal treatment by everyone at the hotel. We enjoyed a birthday dinner at the hotel one night. While the price was a bit high by Lisbon standards, the food was excellent and the restaurant staff was extremely attentive. We loved our stay in Lisbon. The hotel was magnificent and we had had a fabulous time. We cannot wait to return for a longer stay.

"Loved the Aviz"
I and my husband stayed at the Aviz Hotel in Lisbon during a weekend break. The hotel location is great, within a walking distance from the very historical city centre. Just 10 minutes way from Chiado, Bairro Alto, Sé. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped with everything you might need: the car park, a map of the city and instructions. The room was very nice, not too big but very comfortable and pleasant decoration. The bathroom was big, very clean and new. The buffet breakfast was good with a wide selection. The hotel keeps a classic style of decoration and services, keeping the class of the "old days" (but brand new). The days in Aviz were perfect and we will for sure return when again in Lisbon.

"A Top Lisbon Option..."
We can highly recommend this Lisbon hotel, which has recently been refurbed. The main pluses were: - The rooms: We were upgraded to the Frank Sinatra suite on arrival, and it was very comfortable! - The price: Through nethotels we got a very competitive rate (EUR105 a night for a double) - although I imagine it will be more difficult to get such a discount in the future as the hotel becomes more popular. - The location: A 10 minute walk to the city centre and right next to the Marques Pombal tube station - The breakfast: A fantastic buffet! All in all, a great stay in a top European destination.
