The Sunny Beach summer resort is perched 35 km north of Bourgas city and about 95 km to the South of Varna. The resort is naturally set in a large bay, protected by the slopes of the Balkan Mountain to the North and its beach reaches as far as Nessebar to the south. The wide semi-circular bay, facing east forms the beach strip, which is over 8 km long and 30-60 m wide and covered with fine golden sand and natural dunes - most situated in the resort's southern part.
